Recruit Reflections - Alana Fisher (EMU)
Today we are wrapping up the Recruit Reflection Series with Alana Fisher who is a rising senior at Eastern Michigan University. Alana has a great story of not giving up despite not receiving much interest from college coaches to become a key contributor for EMU on vault and floor. After qualifying to NCAA Regionals on vault last season and notching a new career high of a near-perfect 9.925 - Alana has earned a scholarship for her senior season!

Recruit Reflections - Csenge Bácskay (Georgia)
Today we are excited to be joined by Csenge Bácskay who will be competing very soon at the Paris Olympics for her home country of Hungary, but she’s also a collegiate gymnast in the United States which made for a really interesting recruiting perspective. She spent the first two years of her career at the University of Nebraska and will be transferring to the University of Georgia for her final two years. Csenge joins us to talk about her preparations for the Olympics, how she got recruited, the challenges of living in the United States, and what went into her decision to transfer.

Recruit Reflections - Ellerie Poel (Calvin Acro)
Today we are excited to be joined by Ellerie Poel who is a level 9 gymnast from Cardinal Gymnastics in Virginia. Ellerie decided to go the acro and tumbling route in college instead of doing gymnastics and will be joining the inaugural team at Calvin University this season. Ellerie joins us to talk about the decision to let go of the sport she has done for so many years and how she will be using her background in gymnastics in this next chapter of her life.

Recruit Reflections - Makenna Damhorst (Penn)
Today we are excited to be joined by Makenna Damhorst who will be joining the gymnastics team at Penn next season. Makenna has a really unique story - she became a level 10 her senior year after dealing with some injuries, which made recruiting a bit of a challenge. She applied to a few schools, including UCLA where she was a member of the club gymnastics team and D1 rowing team. All the while she continued to work hard in the gym to learn new skills and will now get to achieve her ultimate goal of competing for a D1 gymnastics team in 2025 with Penn.

Good info/Poor audio
I’m enjoying this podcast and listening with my daughter who is a gymnast. But the audio quality is low for some and not others. It’s inconsistent at best.

I love how much the hosts love gymnastics. You can tell this is a passion project, while being well-researched and informed. They get the best interviews!
