Allies

After 20 years of war, the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan ended in chaos at an airfield in Kabul. Thousands of Afghans who worked with the American soldiers as translators, interpreters and partners made it onto U.S. military planes. But despite the decades-long efforts of veterans, lawmakers and senior leaders in the military, even more were left behind. Now they live in hiding from the Taliban. From Lawfare and Goat Rodeo, this is Allies. A podcast about America’s eyes and ears over 20 years of war in Afghanistan. This show will take you from the frontlines of the war to the halls of Congress to find out: How did this happen? For anyone needing help or advice relating to relocation and resettlement from Afghanistan, the independent Evacuate Our Allies Coalition staffs a operations center 7 days a week that can be reached at: Email: evacuateourallies@gmail.com Phone: +1 (213) 358-7953 (live Monday - Friday, 7am - 7pm PT; Saturday & Sunday 9am - 5pm PT) More information on the Coalition is available at http://www.evacuateourallies.org. amazing and important podcast

All the more important for Americans to hear today, as our Afghan allies continue to arrive as SIVs are approved one by one.

A very in-depth and personal review of our flawed policies and procedures, convoluted bureaucracy and general inability to honor the commitments we make during conflict. As a former soldier who relied on such allies in Iraq I am disappointed in the reality that politrics play so heavily on the supposed common sense decisions that should be made. Great podcast.

What a well done and engaging podcast. The way we treated our partners in Afghanistan (and Iraq) is a shame on our nation’s honor. The question is - will we ignore it or will we be the kind of nation we are capable of being?
Important story

Great story telling that focuses on the Allie’s that were essential but largely forgotten in war. Appreciated the humanizing and voice given to those on the ground

The best podcast featuring military interpreters in Afghanistan and Congressional inaction in the U.S.

The war in Afghanistan has been going on for almost my entire life, and yet I’m embarrassed at how little I knew. Thank you so much for bringing me up to speed and for giving these heroes a voice.
Fantastic podcast

This podcast is about how we left translators, who often put their life on the line for our soldiers, to die . Shame on Obama , Trump, Biden and others they should be held to account for the deaths of these men.
We’ll done!!!

A great report on a greatly frustrating episode in our country’s legacy in the Middle East. I’m ashamed some of these people are still suffering but so proud of our troops and foreign service who got those out they could. Our govt needs to come to terms with this and try to make this right! Everyone should know this story!
