Almost Good

Keaton and Osborne serve up well thought out, funny, and often scathing critiques not only about movies, but other assorted pop-culture annoyances. Inevitably one or both drift into ribald episodes of righteous anger that’s usually deserving and often not voiced so clearly these days.

I really like the conversations taking place around movie writing and viewing on Almost Good. There is a wide-read convention between the hosts and the chemistry is excellent as they refine each other’s points and examine deeper the impulses of filmmaking. I am at home every episode but excited to hear the hosts on new movies, shouting in agreement or nodding along but also laughing at jokes. Many of the movies I haven’t or sometimes I have watched without much impression and this movie helps to diagnose those unexamined reactions.

Keaton and Osborn were brought to my attention by my far-more-worldly, pop-culture-aware and intelligent friends who read and critique independent literature on the Booked.Podcast. This is a hysterical and frenetic conversation of movies by two brilliant writers who understand these things on a deeper level than you do. Fully enjoyable, even if you hate the content of any one opinion they share.
