    God is good. God loves you. God is love. These are truths at the heart of the Catholic faith. But, people often ask, if this is true, if God really is love, if God really is good. Why is there so much pain and suffering in the world? This is obviously a very difficult question, especially when you or someone you love has experienced or is experiencing pain and suffering.     The Eucharist, the Body and Blood of Christ, is the heart of the Catholic Church. It is the “source and summit” of our faith and it is from Eucharist that the “Church draws her life”. But has the Catholic Church got this wrong? Did the Lord Jesus really mean the Eucharist is his body and his blood?     Yes, Jesus is God! This truth has been taught by the Catholic Church since the very beginning. This truth is rooted in Scripture and Sacred Tradition within our Church. Yet, throughout history – and you will still hear it claimed today – people have tried to deny Christ’s divinity. They claim that Jesus is not God, but just a moral teacher. These attempts to deny that Jesus is God is why it is so important for our faith to say with absolute clarity – and with hope in our hearts – that we believe the Lord Jesus is God.
