    I Love You Man || Intimacy Among Men

    When you hear intimacy, what do you think? Most men think with a woman or sexually. We’ve set the standard so low for what it means that it only is though of on such a surface level. Jonathan and David show what it means to have intimacy for a friend, another man, and still be what God created men to be. So how do we emulate that today? Is that even possible without ridicule and mockery? And does it even matter? Yes it’s possible and no it doesn’t matter, you probably will face that but if we don’t stand in the gap and walk in who we were created to be as men, the cycle will continue.

    We live in the era of side hustles, building personal brands, vlogging, social media and on and on and on. It’s so easy to be busy today. But being busy doesn’t mean being productive. And it definitely doesn’t mean you’re producing good fruit. So why do we want to be so busy? Why are we filling up our time with things that, in the big picture, hold no value and bring no ultimate satisfaction? We talk about the cult of busyness in 2020 and how that compares to when Jesus walked the earth as a man.

    In this episode we discuss how anger itself isn’t necessarily the issue itself but more the outcome of what we feel and the decisions we make, or as it’s said, it’s not the root but the fruit. We talk about 4 different types of anger: raging/explosive, frustrating, irritating and righteous anger. “..Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry..” What does the Bible say about anger?     Loneliness has been, and becoming even more so, a world wide epidemic. We have created societies and expectations that have led to more and more men feeling lonely, depressed and ultimately suicidal. We did not get here overnight and we will not change it overnight but we must have conversations to identify that it’s real, what the effects of it are and what are some ways we can make a difference.

    Pride is something we all struggle with but where do we get it from. Are we born with it? Is it a learned behavior? Can we ever be free of it? In this episode, Hunter talks about running a marathon (again), Richard was on his own at a young age and we talk about how to deal with this monster called pride.
