The way of Jesus is not to pursue political power, that was Ceasar’s gig
Sobering lessons from history that I pray we are not destined to repeat. Past European autocracies have always had support from religious bodies.
Good idea but disappointing
This could be a great and much needed project. I am a strong critic of what seems to be called Christian Nationalism, and came here hoping to get a better idea of what that term means and to understand it to better counter it. I listened to the first episode, and perhaps it gets better later but I’m not hopeful enough to invest the time. There are some great lines, but mainly sweeping conclusions with so little cohesive analysis of the underlying issue and not even an in-depth definition. It also seems to posit liberation theology mixed with critical theory as the antidote, which is really just another branch of the very same poison tree of modernity, and at any rate will not win over those under the spell of Christian Nationalism. I’d like to hear more subtlety, more analysis. I will look elsewhere.
