A Conversation with Governor Mike Huckabee

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Governor Mike Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas, a 2008 presidential candidate, and longtime conservative commentator on issues in culture and current events.

An ordained Southern Baptist minister, Gov. Huckabee was host of the number-one rated weekend television show Huckabee on the Fox News Channel during 2008-2015, as well as host of The Huckabee Report during 2009-2015, which aired three times daily on nearly 600 radio stations across the nation.

A New York Times best-selling author, he hosts the popular weekly talk show Huckabee, which airs exclusively on TBN.

Our Conversation on America's Roundtable covering:

    — A review of 2022 midterm elections, Republicans win House of Representatives and Nancy Pelosi steps down from Democratic leadership

    — Sarah Huckabee Sanders makes history, elected as the first-ever woman governor of Arkansas. Republican Attorney General Leslie Rutledge becomes first woman elected as Arkansas’ lieutenant governor.

    — Governor Mike Huckabee's recommendations to the House Republican leadership on top priorities.

    — Former President Donald Trump announces his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

"Corruption is worse than ever; we just don’t know about it. With rivers of aid pouring into Ukraine from the United States and Western Europe, it would be easy for high- and low-level crooks to skim and not be caught. By this theory, corruption is badly sapping the war effort but fortunately is being more than offset by the volume of foreign aid and the heroism of individual Ukrainians on the front lines. Certainly weird things keep happening. In July President Volodymyr Zelensky fired the prosecutor general and the leader of the domestic intelligence agency. Last week The Financial Times reported that the recently resigned central bank governor was said to have fled the country as anti-corruption investigators served “a notice of suspicion” for a senior official matching his professional description. My colleague Thomas Friedman wrote in August that “there is deep mistrust” between the White House and Zelensky, “considerably more than has been reported.”

A Conversation with Peter M. Robinson | The Fall of the Berlin Wall | President Ronald Reagan's Principled Leadership | Virtue — Essential for a Functioning Democracy

A Conversation with Peter M. Robinson | The Fall of the Berlin Wall | President Ronald Reagan's Principled Leadership | Virtue — Essential for a Functioning Democracy

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Peter M. Robinson, Murdoch Distinguished Policy Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Host of Uncommon Knowledge™ — Hoover's Video Series Program and Former Special Assistant and Speechwriter to President Ronald Reagan.

Peter Robinson is the Murdoch Distinguished Policy Fellow at the Hoover Institution, where he writes about business and politics, edits Hoover's quarterly journal, the Hoover Digest, and hosts Hoover's video series program, Uncommon Knowledge™.

Robinson spent six years in the White House, serving from 1982 to 1983 as chief speechwriter to Vice President George Bush and from 1983 to 1988 as special assistant and speechwriter to President Ronald Reagan. He wrote the historic Berlin Wall address in which President Reagan called on General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev to "tear down this wall!"

The conversation will begin by focusing on the 33rd anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. On November 9, 1989, five days after a major peaceful protest in East Berlin which gathered half a million people, the communist rulers gave permission for gates along the Berlin Wall to be opened. The fall of Communist Eastern Europe was hastened by the principled leadership of President Ronald Reagan joined by then-UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Pope John Paul II, Germany's Helmut Kohl, Vaclav Havel, leaders within Poland, and other countries in the Soviet block yearning for freedom.

The historic day reminded the world of a speech that was delivered on June 12, 1987 by President Ronald Reagan when he shared these words:

"_Behind me stands a wall that encircles the free sectors of this city, part of a vast system of barriers that divides the entire continent of Europe. . . . Standing before the Brandenburg Gate, every man is a German, separated from his fellow men. Every man is a Berliner, forced to look upon a scar. . . . As long as this gate is closed, as long as this scar of a wall is permitted to stand, it is not the German question alone that remains open, but the question of freedom for all mankind. . . .

General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization, come here to this gate.

    Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate!

Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!_"

—Ronald Reagan, address at the Brandenburg Gate, June 12, 1987

    Topics covered on America's Roundtable:

    — Reflecting on the 33rd Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall.

    — President Ronald Reagan's principled leadership and his clear articulation of moral clarity based on timeless principles and values.

—Peter Robinson shares the real story behind the speech in Berlin, how the message captured the realities on the ground during the Cold War, and the opposition by advisors opposing Reagan's challenge to Gorbachev.

    — The Unfinished Work in advancing freedom and the rule of law in Eastern Europe.

    — Brief observations of the US midterm elections and public policies in America.

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Jason S. Miyares, Attorney General of Virginia, on efforts to strengthen the rule of law in America, address the U.S. southern border crisis, the related fentanyl death epidemic, and shoring election integrity in the American republic.

    — Countering anti-Semitic BDS (boycott, divest and sanction) movement which is targeting Israel through ESG (environmental, social, governance score) by Morningstar

From the Attorney General's office, "Operation Ceasefire is a proven approach to address violent criminal activity among serious and repeat offenders, which was extremely successful in Richmond from 2004-2008. This initiative works to reduce violent crime by maintaining strategic and effective partnerships through the Commonwealth by promoting firearm safety, investing in gang prevention, and supporting community policing in high-crime neighborhoods in order to get the most violent and repeat offenders off our streets."

Bio: Attorney General Jason S. Miyares

Attorney General Jason Miyares' story doesn't start in Virginia Beach, Virginia, but in Havana, Cuba when his mother, Miriam Miyares, fled communist Cuba, penniless and homeless. She taught Jason a love for freedom, democracy, and that America is indeed the “last best hope on earth.” A product of Virginia public schools, Jason graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from James Madison University and received his J.D. from the College of William and Mary School of Law.

He previously served as a prosecutor in the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney Office, where he worked alongside law enforcement to keep violent criminals off our streets and our communities safe.

In 2015, almost fifty years to the day that she fled Cuba, Miriam was able to vote for her son Jason Miyares to represent her in the oldest democracy in the Western Hemisphere, the Virginia House of Delegates. While representing Virginia Beach, Jason was recognized as “Legislator of the Year” in both 2018 and 2019 from the College Affordability and Public Trust for his work on transparency and affordability in higher education, as well as by the Hampton Roads Military Officers Association of America in 2018. He was also recognized in 2019 by the Safe House Project for his work combatting human trafficking, an issue that his administration is prioritizing.

Jason Miyares is the first Cuban American elected to the General Assembly, the first Hispanic elected statewide in Virginia, and the first son of an immigrant ever elected to be Attorney General. He is passionate about preserving the American Miracle for the next generation of Virginians.

But during a brief shutdown in June, gas prices did not noticeably rise."

A Conversation with Gol Kalev | Judaism 3.0: Judaism's Transformation to Zionism

A Conversation with Gol Kalev | Judaism 3.0: Judaism's Transformation to Zionism

Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Gol Kalev, author of "Judaism 3.0: Judaism's Transformation to Zionism."

Gol Kalev writes about Zionism, Europe and global affairs, analyzing long-term shifts and applying historical perspectives. He was an investment banker on Wall Street for nearly two decades, specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Raising, advising financial institutions in both the United States and in Europe. He is chairman of the America-Israel Friendship League Think Tank which explores issues relating to Zionism and Judaism, and he is the author of the think tank's position papers. His articles are featured on Europeandjerusalem.com.

The Book: Judaism 3.0: Judaism's Transformation to Zionism

For over a decade, Gol Kalev has been arguing that Judaism is in the midst of a historic transformation, and Zionism is becoming its organizing principle.

He explores this idea in the AIFL Think Tank which he has been chairing since 2011, in position papers he authored, in featured articles he has written since 2015 in the Jerusalem Post and other publications, and since 2019, in his Jerusalem Post Column, Judaism 3.0.

The book unveils the transformation, places it in its historical context, and demonstrates how it is already evident – both in the manner Jews relate to Judaism, and in the way the outside world perceives the Jews.

The book has already generated robust discussion and anticipation, even before published. A preview was published in a 2018 in a Jerusalem Report article and advanced copies been shared with a select group of thinkers. In January 2022, the Jerusalem Report chose the upcoming book as the cover of its 2022 New Year magazine.
