He also served for more than 20 years as an officer in the United States Army Reserve, and he led an anti-terrorism team in Iraq during his wartime deployment. While in Iraq, he was also able to connect to his Iraqi-Jewish heritage, when he helped preserve Jewish communal property and led Shabbat and holiday services in Saddam Hussein’s former palace in Baghdad.

He and and his wife Dahlia, a rheumatologist in private practice, are the proud parents of Hannah, Rachelle, and Samuel, whom they raise bilingually, educate in Jewish schools, and bring to Israel every summer.

America's Roundtable with Kathie Lee Gifford | NY Times Bestselling Author: "Herod and Mary: Ancient Evil, Living Hope"

Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with Kathie Lee Gifford — the four-time Emmy award winning former co-host of the fourth hour of “TODAY,” alongside Hoda Kotb. After 11 years together, Kathie Lee stepped down from that role in 2019 to pursue other creative endeavors. The Gifford-Kotb hour had been hailed as “appointment television” by Entertainment Weekly, and “TODAY’s happy hour” by USA Today.

Prior to NBC News, Gifford served as the co-host of “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee” for 15 years. In 2015 Gifford was inducted into the Broadcast & Cable Hall of Fame. She was recently awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A playwright, producer, singer, songwriter and actress, Kathie Lee has starred in numerous television programs and movies in her 45-year career.

She has written several musicals including Broadway’s SCANDALOUS, which received a Tony nomination for Best Actress in 2012.

In the fall of 2018 she wrapped post production on “Then Came You,” a film she has written, produced and starred in alongside Craig Ferguson. Gifford co-wrote the score for the film with Brett James. “Then Came You” was released in October of 2020. In April of 2019 she made her directorial debut with THE GOD WHO SEES oratorio, shot in Israel and based on a song she co-wrote with Grammy-nominated Nicole C. Mullen.

She has authored numerous books, including her most recent book, "The God of the Way", and five New York Times bestselling books, including "The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi" and "It's Never Too Late".

    Herod and Mary
    Ancient Evil, Living Hope

Unveil the Truth Behind King Herod and Mary — Explore Their Lives Like Never Before with The First Book in This Eye-Opening Series! Behind the well-known names of Mary and Herod lies a story untold, until now. Kathie Lee Gifford’s latest book ventures beyond the surface, exploring the intricate dynamics of their lives against the backdrop of ancient societal forces.

The first installment in the Ancient Evil, Living Hope series, Herod and Mary begins with the tragic life of King Herod — Christianity's first true persecutor. As an impressionable boy, he is forever marked by the raw power of Rome. Throughout the course of Herod's career, he gains power, fame, and riches beyond belief. Yet murderous intrigues stalk this man — and infect his own dark soul.

But, Mary saw the struggle of her people under a tyrant. Like all Jewish women, she knew the promises of Torah and longed for a deliverer. But no one could have prepared her for what the angel of God revealed: that the Messiah wouldn't arrive with the blaring of trumpets, the clash of arms, or the fanfare of a mighty host. He would arrive as an infant within her own womb. The light of the world was born in a cave: not a king who maims and destroys, but the gentle King of the Jews.

Prepare to have your views on these historical figures forever changed… Through meticulously researched narrative and a fresh perspective, this book sheds light on the complex relationship between Mary and Herod. It combines historical accuracy with compelling storytelling, offering readers a unique opportunity to experience the biblical world from an insider's perspective.

This riveting narrative nonfiction work reveals deep insight to how Herod came to power, how corruption and an ancient evil threatened the stability of a nation, and how a teenage Mary was called to traverse these obstacles to bring the Savior, Jesus, our living hope, into the world.

America's Roundtable with Ambassador Peter Hoekstra | Reviewing America’s Economic and Security Polices | US Foreign Policy: Focusing on Europe and Israel with an Emboldened China, Russia and Iran

Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with distinguished guest Ambassador Peter Hoekstra. The conversation focuses on key issues affecting American families and communities as the country continues to experience persistent higher prices for food and gas. A published report by The Wall Street Journal said, "Yet since January 2021 electricity prices have soared 29.4%—about 50% more than overall inflation."

The Wall Street Journal in a report on July 3, 2024 stated, "The Fed raised rates at the fastest pace in 40 years in 2022 and 2023 to combat inflation that also rose to a four-decade high. They have held their benchmark rate in a range between 5.25% and 5.5% since last July."

This discussion on America's Roundtable also provides an update on foreign policy issues impacting America. The conflict in Europe triggered by Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Iran-backed terror group Hamas' invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023 and Iran's first-ever open attack on Israel on April 13, 2024, have shown cracks in America's leadership on the global stage.

    Bio | Ambassador Peter Hoekstra

Ambassador Hoekstra represented the United States as Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. During his tenure, The Hague hosted the Department of State Global Entrepreneurial Summit in June of 2019, which was attended by over 2000 entrepreneurs, investors, and other business leaders. The Dutch Parliament created the American Friendship Group at his urging.

He continues to aggressively and effectively promote United States foreign policy goals and objectives. Pete served in the United States Congress for 18 years, representing Michigan’s 2nd Congressional District from 1993 to 2011.

He served as Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from 2004 until January 2007. He was a member of the Gang of Eight from 2004 until 2011 receiving the most highly classified information available in the U.S. government.

Prior to his service in the U.S. Congress, Pete had a successful career at Herman Miller, Inc. of Zeeland, Michigan—a company frequently cited as one of the most admired in America and one of the best places to work. Over his 15 year career at Herman Miller, Pete worked in a variety of positions rising through the ranks to become the Vice President of Marketing.

America's Roundtable with Dr. Ben Carson | "The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture's War on the American Family" | Reading of the U.S. Declaration of Independence

Join America's Roundtable radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with the Honorable Benjamin S. Carson, Sr. M.D., one of America's principled leaders and a great patriot.

The program begins with the words — "the perilous fight" penned by Francis Scott Key in the midst of a most difficult and pivotal moment in our nation's history when twenty British ships bombarded Fort McHenry from the Baltimore Harbor. It was on the morning of September 14, 1814 that Francis Scott Key wrote about the ramparts, and the land of the free and the home of the brave which inspired a nation and became a rallying victory call.

Our conversation highlights Dr. Ben Carson's new book "The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture's War on the American Family."

“The perilous fight—those words arrest my attention whenever I place my right hand over my heart and face the flag at the playing of our national anthem. They are a reminder that America was born in a crucible of fire. Freedom was not given freely but had to be fought for and defended.” ~ Dr. Ben Carson

    Biography | Dr. Ben Carson

In 1973, Ben Carson graduated from Yale University. He went on to receive his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. At the age of 33, Dr. Carson became the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, making him the youngest major division director in the hospital’s history.

This would be among an extensive list of outstanding firsts for Dr. Carson. Dr. Carson’s accomplishments have earned him a place in medical history. He performed the first and only successful separation of craniopagus (Siamese) twins joined at the back of the head in 1987.

He also performed the first fully successful separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins in 1997 in South Africa. In his career, Dr. Carson became a professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery, and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center for over 29 years.

In 2016, Dr. Carson accepted the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration. After completing his tenure as the 17th Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute. This organization is focused on fighting for the principles that have guided him through life and that make this country great: faith, liberty, community and life.

Dr. Carson and his wife, Candy Carson, co-founded the Carson Scholars Fund, which recognizes young people of all backgrounds for exceptional academic and humanitarian accomplishments. The organization has awarded more than 11,000 scholarships and paid out more than $8.9 million in scholarships. The Carson Scholars Fund is currently operating in 50 states and the District of Columbia, and since its founding, has installed more than 270 Ben Carson Reading Rooms around the country.

In 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute (ACI), a conservative think tank centered around advancing policies that promote “faith, liberty, community, and life.”

Dr. and Mrs. Carson reside in Florida. They are the proud parents of three sons and three daughters-in-law, and blessed grandparents of eight grandchildren.
