In the meanwhile, his marriage too got fixed up.  Murthy tried all the tricks up his sleeve to cancel his duty and he refused to grant more than ten day’s leave for Nitish to quickly get married and come back. T his time too Nitish got providential help to get away from his unit, get married and return to unit after an unusually long time of five months. As soon he joined duty, Murthy sent him to Delhi, leaving behind his new bride alone.  The ding dong battle between Murthy and Nitish went on and on, like cat and mouse game between the cartoon characters Tom and Jerry.  Where and how did the game of Murthy and Nitish end? By a sheer coincidence they met a consultant physician who they knew. After examining the husband, he told that, he needs to undergo a surgery immediately.  The husband asked for a few days’ time to prepare for the surgery. At the end of a month neither he had money on him nor was it possible to contact anyone for seeking assistance.  The physician said that, if the surgery was not done that night itself, it could never be done; as he will not survive to see the next morning.  What would they do?  How would the young wife save her husband’s life?  Who would take care of their baby who was very hungry and thirsty by then?  They prayed for a miracle to happen. An IAF officer had to stay separately from his young wife and infant daughter, as he was detailed to undergo a training course for three long months at Mhow, M.P. His wife stayed back with her tiny daughter in Bombay.  Fortunately for them the festival of colours ‘Holi’ arrives. Somehow the officer manages to get four days’ leave to be with his family. He arranges to spend the holidays with his family at Baroda.  On the appointed day wife starts from Bombay by night train and husband starts by private night bus from Indore. They both plan to meet up at Baroda Railway station. It was absolutely essential for the Officer to personally receive his wife at Baroda Station; else she would be helpless with her daughter in arms, as she did not know anything about that city.  But unfortunately in the midway at the dead of night police impounded the bus in which the officer was travelling. He was stranded. Apparently there was no way for him to reach Baroda Rail station at 6.30 AM next day, when his wife’s train was scheduled to arrive there. The officer had to do something to save his wife from impending danger of getting lost in Baroda.  What would he do against such huge odds?
