    The Strong Black Woman Schema is the ideal archetype of how a black woman should act, and it is characterized by three main features: emotional restraint, independence, and caretaking. Several studies have found that endorsing this schema can be psychologically debilitating for Black women, contributing to anxiety, depression, distress, and other mental health issues. Black Lives Matter At School is a national coalition fighting for racial justice in education, which includes mandating more Black history courses in the classroom. On February 9th, they held a rally where young people from different schools across New York rallied at Tweed Courthouse to advocate for better education systems.
