Ampocalypse | Riff Wood on Butterfly in Black and White & Giving Gen Z & Alpha the Keys to the World

In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Hyrum Russon, Carson Groves and Asher “Shredder” Winegar of Riff Wood to talk about the band’s journey from childhood friends making music together to touring internationally and preparing to release their new album, Butterfly in Black and White. Hyrum, Carson and Shredder discuss how their musical influences have evolved, the experience of working with legendary producer Rob Cavallo, whose credits include Green Day, My Chemical Romance and Paramore, and the role social media has played in helping Riff Wood reach audiences around the world. They also share their thoughts on AI in music, why genuine connections with fans remain more important than chasing numbers, and how their new material represents the next stage in the band’s growth. With songs for a third album already beginning to take shape, they also explain why the full album experience still matters in an industry increasingly driven by singles and viral moments. Then it’s time for the Ampocalypse. With Gen Z and Gen Alpha left to inherit and rebuild society, Hyrum, Carson and Shredder are handed the chance to redesign education, decide what survives from social media and introduce some new rules for the world they’re creating. Along the way, there’s room for creativity, kindness, misinformation, responsibility and, perhaps most importantly, fixing school lunches. 🤘 Like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse, tell us what you would change if you were rebuilding society from scratch, and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like to hear next. #Ampocalypse #RiffWood #ButterflyInBlackAndWhite #RobCavallo #RockPodcast Videographer: Damian FitzGerald Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Introduction to Riff Wood and their new album 02:00 Touring across North America and the UK 03:53 Experiences in the UK and favourite cities 08:00 Musical influences and growth over the years 08:59 Discovery by Rob Cavallo via TikTok 12:59 Thoughts on AI in music and promotion 17:54 Future plans and new album insights 26:59 Apocalyptic scenario: a world led by Gen Z and Alpha 36:53 Rules for a new society and final thoughts Social links Follow Riff Wood: Website https://www.riffwood.com Instagram https://www.instagram.com/riffwoodband/?hl=en Facebook https://www.facebook.com/riffwoodband/ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@riff_wood Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/7oXwujbsaxe9NN4RTYLWcO Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

Ampocalypse | Gregg Deal of Dead Pioneers on Reaching the Top of the 2000Trees Food Chain

In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Gregg Deal from Dead Pioneers for another 2000Trees special, as he faces the ultimate festival survival scenario. With the world outside the festival falling apart, Gregg has to decide how best to survive inside 2000Trees. From securing the essentials and recognising that “water is life”, to figuring out who actually has the skills needed when festival life suddenly becomes permanent, the conversation quickly turns to how a new community might begin to take shape. Gregg considers who should step up to lead, whether those who arrived prepared would suddenly find themselves at the top of the food chain, and the advantages of keeping a mobile base of operations rather than settling in one place. There is also the small matter of keeping everyone sane, with music becoming just as important for morale as food and water are for survival. Could 2000Trees become the foundations of a new society, or would festival politics bring everything crashing down before the apocalypse even had the chance? 🤘 Like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse, let us know how you’d survive 2000Trees, and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like to hear next. #Ampocalypse #DeadPioneers #2000Trees #2000TreesFestival #FestivalSurvival #AlternativeMusic Videographer: Cara Felstead Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Introduction to the festival apocalypse scenario 02:21 Festival fan archetypes and their survival potential 04:14 The role of democracy versus dictatorship in survival 04:41 Priorities in the first 24 hours: water and supplies 05:20 Morale and music: keeping spirits high 05:47 Choosing a base of operations: the van as a mobile refuge Social links Follow Dead Pioneers: Website https://deadpioneers.band Instagram https://www.instagram.com/dead.pioneers/?hl=en Facebook https://www.facebook.com/dead.pioneers/?locale=en_GB YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@DeadPioneersBand Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/3t0cq15eUtB2wvb1wJARsv Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

Ampocalypse | a Forest on Surviving 2000Trees by Fortifying The Forest with Treehouses and a Moat

In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Matt Hughes, also known as a Forest, for another 2000Trees special. Matt is faced with a very different version of the festival, where the world beyond the perimeter has collapsed and everyone inside has to figure out how to survive. Matt weighs up the importance of water, vegetation and the natural resources surrounding the festival, considers which types of festival-goers might actually be useful when things go wrong, and decides where he would establish his territory, choosing the Forest Stage as his base of operations. From there, the plans quickly expand to include tree houses, a moat and everything needed to turn it into a post-apocalyptic stronghold. With the community beginning to take shape, attention turns to leadership, morale and the role music could play in keeping everyone together when survival becomes the new headline act. Matt also wastes very little time deciding that democracy might not be the answer, with dictatorship emerging as his preferred leadership style. 🤘 Please like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse, tell us how you would survive the Ampocalypse at 2000Trees, where you would make your base, who you would trust to lead, and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like to hear next. #Ampocalypse #2000Trees #aForest #2000TreesFestival #MusicPodcast #FestivalLife #Apocalypse Videographer: Cara Felstead Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Festival Vibes and Personal Reflections 02:46 Navigating an Apocalypse: Survival Strategies 06:02 Community Dynamics in a Post-Apocalyptic World 09:06 Morale and Music in Crisis 11:58 Claiming Territory: The Forest as a Stronghold Social links Follow a Forest: Instagram https://www.instagram.com/a_forest_music/ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGy1rV3T5Ljq5qqsRfLMqzw Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/05zRFwFHxIEtpAQqQAlz1P Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

Ampocalypse | Vinnie Caruana on Preppers, Scousers and Surviving 2000Trees

In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Vinnie Caruana of I Am the Avalanche for another 2000Trees special, as he imagines the festival becoming the last safe place in a world that has fallen apart. Vinnie considers how the community and compassion found at festivals could become the foundations of a new society, why preppers would suddenly become some of the most valuable people around, and what supplies would be essential during those crucial first 24 hours. There’s also the small matter of choosing who should take charge, with Vinnie putting his trust in the Scousers to lead the survivors and deciding he’d need to teleport his wife to 2000Trees to make sure the new world actually stays organised. With survival covered, attention turns to keeping everyone sane, the importance of music and morale when times get tough, and where at 2000Trees Vinnie would choose to establish a permanent base for the community. 🤘 Like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse, let us know how you’d survive 2000Trees, and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like to hear next. #Ampocalypse #VinnieCaruana #IAmTheAvalanche #2000Trees #2000TreesFestival #RockPodcast #FestivalPodcast Videographer: Cara Felstead Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Introduction and setting the apocalyptic scene 02:51 The importance of community and compassion in survival 05:19 Choosing leaders for the new society 06:42 Critical supplies in the first 24 hours 07:59 Morale and music as survival tools 08:37 Designating a permanent base at the festival Social links Follow I Am The Avalanche: Website https://www.iamtheavalanche.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/iamtheavalanchenyc/?hl=en Facebook https://www.facebook.com/iamtheavalanche/ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/IATABrooklyn Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/60uj1W8gsOriVqdoqLcR2O Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

Ampocalypse | RECLUS.É on Surviving 2000Trees, Portaloos and Toilet Paper

In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Daniel P. Carter and Soren Bryce of RECLUS.É for another special recorded at 2000Trees Festival. With the outside world falling apart and 2000Trees potentially becoming the last safe place around, Dan and Soren face the big decisions that could determine whether the festival community survives. Do they stay within the festival grounds or risk heading into the unknown? Which festivalgoers would prove most useful when things go wrong, from seasoned veterans and mosh pit warriors to the preppers who somehow arrived ready for the end of the world? They also tackle the practicalities of keeping everyone alive, including water, food trucks and the suddenly very important portaloos, becoming the first Ampocalypse guests so far to recognise the vital need for toilet paper. They then decide where they would establish a permanent base, who the survivors could rally behind, with Cancer Bats emerging as potential leaders, and why music could be essential for keeping morale high and perhaps even starting a revolution with the right playlist. Would you stay at 2000Trees and build a new community, or take your chances beyond the festival gates? 🤘 Like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse, tell us how you’d survive 2000Trees, and let us know what Ampocalypse you’d like to hear next. #Ampocalypse #RECLUSE #2000Trees #2000TreesFestival #FestivalApocalypse #RockPodcast #AlternativeMusic Videographer: Cara Felstead Editor: Damian FitzGerald Producer: Damian FitzGerald Chapters 00:00 Introduction to festival apocalypse scenario 01:58 Deciding whether to stay inside or seek safety outside 03:56 What parts of festival culture are vital for survival 06:01 Which festival crowd types are best equipped for survival 07:57 Leadership and community rallying behind bands 09:58 Choosing a strategic location for a permanent base 11:01 Morale, music, and survival tactics in crisis Social links Follow RECLUS.É: Instagram https://www.instagram.com/recluse_band/?hl=en-gb Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/77myKiTzTz50cL8cMxBuvV Follow V13 Media: Website https://v13.net Instagram https://www.instagram.com/v13media/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/v13media  YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@v13media Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/puregrainaudio Follow Ampocalypse: Website https://v13.net/author/damian_fitzgerald/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ampocalypseofficial Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61590735576991 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUBRjKMVTI9getsOHSTzuSGOOsnyVQz1d Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1tX46T9ptOs3nf5uPozqKi

Ampocalypse | Kris Barras on Monsters We Made & Surviving a Kaiju Apocalypse

In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Kris Barras of The Kris Barras Band to talk about the new album Monsters We Made, the band's evolving sound and the creative process behind the record. Kris discusses the stories behind the new songs and how the album came together. He also talks about working with bandmate Josiah Manning as producer, balancing darker themes with big melodies, choosing which tracks to release ahead of the album and why there could be a different fan favourite for everyone. Then it's time for Kris to face his Ampocalypse as a gigantic kaiju rises and begins tearing its way through civilisation. Where does he hide? What's the escape plan? Which musician is he rescuing along the way? And when survival expertise is needed, is Bear Grylls the man for the job? In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Paul O’Sullivan of Greywind for another 2000Trees Festival special. Paul imagines the festival becoming the last safe place on Earth, discussing why the Forest Stage could become the heart of a new society, whether seasoned festival veterans or preppers would have the edge, and how music and morale might be just as important as food and shelter when civilisation collapses. Paul also reveals his own survival priorities, including making sure there’s plenty of Dr Pepper and pizza to keep everyone going, while explaining why a strong sense of community could be just as important as any stockpile of supplies. It’s another fun journey into the Ampocalypse, packed with laughs, festival chaos, and the impossible survival decisions that make every episode unique. 🤘 If you enjoyed this episode, please like, share, and subscribe to Ampocalypse. Ampocalypse | Glass Bridges on Building a New Society at 2000Trees

In this episode of Ampocalypse Damian FitzGerald is joined by Simona Cutifani, Sam Canfield, Cameron Beach and Josh Hodge from Glass Bridges for another special recorded at 2000Trees Festival. Together they imagine the festival becoming the last safe place on Earth, discussing who would be best equipped to survive, what supplies would become essential in the first 24 hours, and why community spirit could be the difference between rebuilding civilisation or watching it collapse. The conversation explores whether one of the festival ponds could provide a reliable source of water, where the safest place to establish a new community might be, and why Don Broco could be the ideal band to lead the survivors into a new future. Blending practical survival strategies with plenty of humour, this is another journey into the Ampocalypse from 2000Trees Festival. 🤘 If you enjoyed this episode, please like, share and subscribe to Ampocalypse.
