    Escaping loneliness

    'Being lonely I find ways to escape, whether consciously or unconsciously, because I don't know how to tackle what I'm experiencing.' Why do we experience loneliness? How does it come about? And why do we spend so much time escaping it?

    Can we truly empty the contents of our mind?

    'To be clear, we cannot deny the me, the self, the go - push it away. When we do we're simply sweeping it under the rug, locking it up. It's still very much there.’ Is it possible to empty the contents of this me, this self, this ego instantly? Or does it take a specific amount of time using a specific method or process? Our minds have been trained to seek through consistent measurement over a period of time. Can we question whether this is necessary at all? Are methods and process' just another way the mind keeps the illusion of this me alive? Is it possible to empty our mind of it's content - accumulated knowledge, memories, experiences - and simply look, listen and be aware of what is actually happening in moment to moment?

    The origin of desire

    It's not only outside objects that awaken desire, it's also inward ideologies, symbols, images created by thought. The external and the internal desiring are one and the same. They both awaken desire. What is desire? What is it's purpose? How does it come about? When does it begin? Can it ever end? When we slow everything down, really look and listen with all our undivided attention, we can see the movement of desire - free of our prejudices and conditioning.

    'What is this whole movement we call thinking? The movement upon which all our actions and activities take place? Is our conditioning as a collective, our consciousness as a species, the main thing that divides us? What is thought and why do we try and control it? Is there ever a point where thought dissolves completely?

    Global consciousness, individuality and humanity

    Our beliefs. Our Experiences. Our depressions. Our loneliness. Our despair. Our deeply embedded desire to be loved, encouraged, seen. We want to be held together. But why? What is consciousness? Have we made it up as a way to try and explain the unexplainable? Or is the unexplainable simply the content which creates consciousness - our accumulated knowledge, experiences and memories?

    Are we all caught in an illusion?

    'Time has built up the ego, the personal, the entire psychological world. Where we bump into a problem is we think time is necessary, both physically and psychologically.' We all live by time. But how often do we question the effect it has on our psychology? Is time responsible for the creation of all our fears? Can we observe how we escape these fears by suppressing, denying, surpassing or tolerating it as our brains have been trained to do?

    We must find out for ourselves the truth of what meditation means. Not what we want it to mean, but what we actually mean when we say meditation. Preface: Psychologically, inwardly, we're constantly measuring - I have been and I will be, I am this and I'll become that. But when we measure we compare. When we compare we're causing a division, separation, using words like better and more. Can we see the destruction caused by using these words inwardly?

    'The shallowness of ones thinking, the superficiality, the deep and the deeper--as long as there is more and less, it can be measured.' What does it mean to measure? I'm curious about uncovering the roots of our base need and desire to constantly be measuring ourselves with other things and people, both physically and psychologically.
