135: The Folkway - Anthony and Nathan Greene

Anthony and Nathan Greene are two of the most talented storytellers I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know over this past year, and are the co-founders of a Southern West Virginian film production company, The Folkway. They recently released their first full-length documentary project called Into the Well, a film about the first official year of the Rim to River ultramarathon. A 100 mile trail race taking place at America’s newest National Park, the New River Gorge. Prepare yourself, I love filmmaking, and we talk a lot about it. Enjoy. Fantastic

Whenever I find local (relatively speaking) podcasts, I am typically VERY forgiving about lack of production quality. This is not needed with this podcast. The audio is incredible, the topics are interesting, and the line of questioning/conversation is perfect. Thank you so much for telling these stories - I will GLADLY recommend this to anyone interested in podcasts!

Appalachian Startup

It’s awesome to see someone tap into the Appalachian startups, an area which I have yet to see anyone do. It’s great that someone is giving these startups (and existing businesses) a platform for some insight on their specific business. I specifically enjoyed the conversation with Appalachian Cannabis Company!

In a state with so many negatives, this podcast shines light upon the hardworking dreamers who are refreshing and encouraging. JD has an uplifting positive vibe about Appalachian culture and the creative people who live there.
