Raised during segregation in Huntsville, Alabama, James Eddie shares his experiences attending all-black schools and later being drafted to the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

As one of the first African American women to work in the Huntsville City school system after integration, Ms. Martha discusses her trials, tribulations and successes working in the cafeteria food industry as the only person of color.

Ms. Hattie Sue is the sister of their grandfather, Frank Jordan, on their father’s side of the family. Throughout her ninety-five years on this earth, Ms. Hattie has experienced the highest of highs and, at times, the lowest of lows only to triumph over life’s struggles to become an independent and self-reliant woman.
