Glückliche Kühe – glückliche Menschen? Wenn KI die Emotionen von Tier und Mensch erkennen kann

Folge 6 | Kennen Sie schon den Happy-Index Ihres Haustiers? In dieser Podcast-Episode geht es um Emotionen. Genauer gesagt, um die Analyse und Vorhersage von Emotionen mit Hilfe von Künstlicher Intelligenz. Wir sprechen mit dem renommierten Schweizer KI-Forscher und Digitalpionier Prof. Dr. Peter A. Gloor darüber, wie man mit KI-Tools die Gefühlswelt von Kühen, Pferden, Hunden, Katzen und sogar Pflanzen analysieren kann. Peter Gloor und sein Team von Gleichgesinnten entwickeln im Rahmen ihres Start-Ups FaunaAI eine App, mit der das ganz einfach möglich ist. Während der im März 2026 stattfindenden Ausstelllung "Phänomena" plant der Wissenschaftler, die neusten Erkentnnisse und Ergebnisse rund um menschliche, tierische und pflanzliche Emotionen in ihrem Happiness-Pavillon vorzustellen. Doch das ist nur eines von vielen bahnbrechenden Projekten, mit denen sich Peter Gloor beschäftigt. Der promovierte Informatiker und Mathematiker lehrt und forscht am MIT in Boston und an der Hochschule Luzern zum Thema «Collaborative Innovation Networks». Als Weltbürger hat er bereits Vorlesungen in China, Chile, Deutschland, Finnland und Italien gehalten. Er ist ausserdem Gründer und Chief Creative Officer des Softwareunternehmens galaxyadvisors, das Kund:innen dabei hilft, Coolhunting und Coolfarming zu betreiben. Mit Prof. Dr. Peter A. Gloor gehen wir der Frage nach, was es mit Coolhunting und Coolfarming auf sich hat, was «COINS» sind und wie sie unser Zusammenleben positiv beeinflussen können und wie wir mit Hilfe von KI-Algorithmen das Wohlbefinden von Tieren steigern können. Zu erkennen, ob Pflanzen lieber Mozart oder Heavy Metal hören, oder ob der Hund sich gerade langweilt oder glücklich ist – dank KI-Forschung ist das heute schon möglich. Erzähl mir eine Geschichte aus Daten! Data Storytelling & Visualisierung in der Praxis

Folge 5 | Kontext ist King? Wenn man Marina Bräm und Samuel Frei von der Hochschule Luzern (HSLU) fragt, dann auf jeden Fall, wenn es um professionelles Data Storytelling geht. Mit der preisgekrönten Informationsdesignerin und dem Designforscher gehen wir in dieser Folge der Frage nach, wie wichtig eine gut strukturierte und vielschichtige Geschichte aus Daten ist. Denn wer mit Daten arbeitet und sie für ein Publikum aufbereitet, hat – frei nach Spiderman – viel Macht und damit auch viel Verantwortung, sagt Samuel Frei. Raus aus dem Klassenzimmer, rein ins Projekt! Die Lerninitiative bydo

Folge 3 | Der eine träumt davon, die Schweizer Bildungslandschaft mit praxisnahen Projekten zu revolutionieren, der andere sucht auf Wirtschaftsseite nach Talenten mit praktischen Fähigkeiten. Wie gut, dass Prof. Dr. Andreas Brandenberg (Leiter des Masterstudiengangs Applied Information and Data Science an der Hochschule Luzern) und Peter Delfosse (CEO Axon Management AG) seit kurzem gemeinsame Sache machen. Das Resultat ihrer Zusammenarbeit ist vielversprechend: Wenn sich Bildung und Praxis sprichwörtlich die Hand reichen, entsteht die innovative Hands-on-Learning-Initiative bydo. Folge 2 | Zu Gast sind heute Christina Sudermann und Jan Allemann. Beide haben den Masterstudiengang «Applied Information and Data Science» an der Hochschule Luzern erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Heute arbeitet Christina Sudermann als German Tax Specialist bei der LGT Capital Partners und Jan Allemann ist Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) bei der Cowa Thermal Solutions AG. Um es gleich vorweg zu nehmen: Beide haben ein völlig unterschiedliches Profil, aber eine grosse Gemeinsamkeit – die Leidenschaft für Applied Data Science. In unserem Podcast sprechen wir mit Jan und Christina über ihre Zeit nach dem Masterstudium.
