The Are We Bad Dads? podcast is a podcast with a head for history and a heart for fatherhood. Three regular guys start out talking about their favorite popular history books, and always end up at fatherhood. Aaron, (author, IT Director, and father of four), Dave (high school US history teacher and father of four), and Mateo, (graphic designer and father of two) consider how they match up to some of the greatest men in history, laugh at each others’ expense, and try to answer that nagging question, “Are We Bad Dads?”

    S3E8 - The Dads Take on the Cuban Missile Crisis, One More Time

    The story of the Sixties continues in Episode 8 of Season 3 as Mateo, Aaron, and Dave take on the book Nuclear Folly: A History of the Cuban Missile Crisis by Serhii Plokhy.   As a special bonus this episode includes a first for the dads, a complete and total recanting of an earlier cargo short rating by one of the dads. Who changed their mind? And what did they change it about? You’ll have to listen to the episode to find out, but let’s just say we may be back on George Lucas’s Christmas card list.   Want More? Dave accuses Aaron of fake news The dads explain why they started reading Theodore White’s The Making of the President: 1960, and quickly switched to a different book.     S3E2 - The Dads Take On American Graffiti

    The story of the Sixties continues in episode 2 of Season 3 as the dads take on the classic film American Graffiti. Dave enjoyed this movie. Despite it being ranked as one of the America Film Institute’s Top 100 films of all time, Mateo didn’t love it. Aaron was somewhere in the middle, feeling that the movie is worthy of respect, if only for the fact that without it we never get Star Wars. Besides, it has a great soundtrack and a young Harrison Ford, so it’s worth watching at least once in your life. Just to warn you before you listen, this might be our most offensive episode. If you are French or work at Braum’s you might want to skip this episode. Actually, listen to this episode and then send us an email telling us how wrong Mateo is. Yeah, that’s a way better idea.   Want More?
