    Art Exhibition with Julia Kopperud

    Today on Art Beat we speak with local artist Julia Kopperud who recently had an exhibition at No Name Bar and has completed a mural at Two Fathoms Brewing here in Winona. Julia is a visual artist specializing in acrylics and mosaics, but her creative energies don’t stop there. Julia also dabbles in many other mediums, and I’m not talkin’ fortune telling here.. or am I? Oh well, I’ll let her tell ya all about that herself.     Open Mic with Dougie Padilla

    Today on Art Beat we go the Blue Heron Coffee house, and indulge ourselves in the poetry by acclaimed Minnesota Artist and Poet Dougie Padilla.  Dougie who identifies as half Norwegian, half Mexican, and half cowboy spends most of his time creating expressive art and writing poetry in his studio in Pepin Wisconsin. The International Digital Media and Arts Association, or IDMAa, is dedicated to showcasing new ideas and innovative developments within digital arts and digital media. This year’s conference and exhibition focuses on the theme of Wild Media. This week on Art Beat we sit down with key note speaker Talan Memmott and John C.S. Keston about their talk and performance at this year’s iDMAa conference. Talan Memmott is a professor in the Mass Communications Department and is the founder of the Creative Digital Media program  at Winona State University. John C.S. We also speak with Rob Wittig about his workshop titled, “Netprov Playshop: Going Wild with Visible Language in Netprov”.     International Digital Media & Arts Association 2024: Davin Heckman

    Today on Art Beat we take you back to the 2024 iDMAa Conference and Exhibition which ran from June 27th to June 30th 2024, on the campus of Winona State University. IDMAa or the International Digital Media and Arts Association was founded in 2004 by a collection of 15 universities, under the goal of talking about and  communicating new ideas and developments on various types of digital arts, digital media, and creative academias. The confrenece and exhibition is a chance for the members of this organization to showcase to each other and the public their work, what they've been researching, and new developments in digital media and digital arts.
