A silly and serious podcast about creativity and stepping out of your comfort zone.
28. Everyone else is just as dumb as me is, terrible sketches, and recovery bagels
Jess makes some “terrible” sketches and knits her needle down to a stump. Fiona finds some chewy healing and growth in a Montreal-style bagel. Both feel liberated by the mistakes of real adults (looking at you Cesar Milan).See pictures from this episode...
27. Collage, poetry, and technical difficulties: let it be what it gonna be
Fiona expresses some COVID anxiety with her first ever collage and writes an accidental poem about pain and depression. Jess hunts for treasure DOWNTOWN and does some creative thread-finding, both figuratively and literally. Both narrowly escape the...
26. Fiona paints through the pain and Jess knits a sexy hat
Jess worries about a Big Purchase (an online course for illustrators!?) and knits up a storm. Fiona battens down the hatches in another week of migraines, and finds a surprising light through the clouds: feeling pain and painting anyway. Both laugh a...
25. The extravagance of furniture, fancy pencils, and chronic illness
Jess single-handedly causes the apocalypse, cancels Christmas, and is taunted by $500 pencil crayons – however, she sure does mix some media. Fiona’s chronic headaches give her Big Guilt over sticking to a creative practice, but she still manages to...

Customer ReviewsSee All
Fiona and Jess are hilarious and open and not afraid to be real about the joyful and not so joyful parts of life, as well as (of course) making art in general. This podcast truly is a source of hope and light and humor every week, and gives me a lot to think about. 👌🏻
New favorite 🤍
Listening to this really is like hanging out with two smart, funny, and deep friends. I love how open Jess and Fiona are about their art and life and how those things intersect. Each episode is a bright spot in my week!
I ❤️ Art Horse!
I listen to many podcasts but Art Horse is my ultimate favorite. Every episode feels like sitting down at a kitchen table and chatting with friends. They’ve always seemed to be talking about EXACTLY what I’m feeling in regard to creativity at the moment and have refreshing/encouraging perspectives. Through listening, I got a spark of creativity that helped me start sculpting again after a block and introduced me to The Artist’s Way, which I’ve found to be extremely rewarding. I’m considering shifting from working in design to becoming an artist, in part because of listening to these women! Thanks Jess & Fiona! I look forward to listening every week and wish the episodes came more frequently!
