Art of Discussing

I’m interested in Americans or other nationals being illegally detained in other countries, especially in the mid east. This came up when I was looking for podcasts about Austin Tice & gave it a listen. I couldn’t get through it. They were doing research on the subject matter during rather than the podcast so there were quiet pauses while they read. They seem to have a hard time finding the right words to use for what they’re trying to say & just don’t really seem to know much about this subject. One reason I listen to podcasts is to get info not easily available or I want to hear someone who’s more knowledgeable than me take on something that interests me. They don’t seem to do much prep before, or have the episode mapped out, they’ll read an article they googled, but won’t recall if that’s the article they wanted to reference or not, so we get to listen to them scan/read aloud thru it, searching for whatever it was they wanted to read. I know podcasting isn’t easy & they may have gotten better since this episode, the subject matter is good so I’m going to give them another shot, but if the next 1 is similar I won’t listen again.
