In this episode, I share about a recent rejection I experienced and how I went through the range of emotions to ultimately move forward. 7. Obey Your Art

    7. Obey Your Art

In this episode, I talk about the importance of letting your art take you in the direction it wants you to go, rather than forcing your art in the direction you think the both of you should go. I share about some recent pivots I’ve had to take in the name of obeying my art, and how those detours came about. I discuss the importance of trust and surrender when obeying your art. And finally, I talk about how obeying your art often requires you to change your plans completely. But through all of these challenges, you must still obey!

    6. Taking Risks in the Studio

    6. Taking Risks in the Studio

In this episode, I go deep and try to uncover what really holds us back from taking chances in our studio. Ultimately, I think it comes down to getting comfortable with our imperfections, as well as getting comfortable with taking risks outside of the studio. I also share with you a super vulnerable whoops moment that I experienced from taking a chance, and how it's all part of the beautiful process of learning how to be braver, so we can show up as the courageous artists this world so desperately needs.

    5. Conversation with Elyse’ Jokinen of Wilder Collage

    5. Conversation with Elyse’ Jokinen of Wilder Collage

In this episode, I chat with Elyse' Jokinen, collage artist and founder of Wilder Collage. Elyse' is on a mission to share the magic of collage art through connection, education, inspiration and visibility. She's the warmest, friendliest, most supportive person I know in the art community and her positivity is truly infectious! I'm so happy to know Elyse' and to be a member of the Wilder community.

Artists can often feel so isolated and out-of-touch with one another, and must dig deep on a daily basis to find the encouragement to keep going. Being a part of this community has done so much for my motivation and discipline as an artist and has bumped up my overall dedication to my own art practice in so many ways. I have Elyse' to thank for this and I so admire the work she's doing!

    4. It Only Takes One

    4. It Only Takes One

In this impromptu episode, I share my trepidation about creating my first Shopify store and sweating it out, waiting for that first sale. I also give myself (and you!) a pep talk as I remember times in my past when I've created something, put it out there, and then just waited, until that fateful day when something DID come back. From there, you're safe, and it really only takes one to start a cascading effect of success, if you can hang in there until it happens. And it WILL happen!

    3. Don't Stop, Just Slow Down

    3. Don't Stop, Just Slow Down

In this episode, I share with you what happens when you make deliberate choices about your creative career. Things take off and get exciting! But at some point, it's also natural to hit a wall. And when this happens, we don't want to stop all together (something I'm notorious for doing!). But instead, we just wanna just slow down. I make the case for tenacity, endurance, and discipline in the face of creative blocks and confusion, even though I've always been the quitter when it comes to this kind of thing.
