Why Plastic-Free Brands Will Win the Future of Business

What does success really mean, and who decided the rules? In this episode of Artful Impact, Ekaterina Sky sits down with Joshua Scott Onysko, a plant based chef, self taught perfumer, skincare innovator, visual artist, and a pioneer of plastic free consumer brands. Joshua questions the idea of the American Dream and whether constant accumulation and consumption truly bring fulfillment, or simply keep us distracted. Instead, he shares a grounded and refreshingly honest philosophy for life and work: have fun, stay authentic, and do it plastic free. Together, they explore how purpose becomes the thread that connects many creative paths, why focus is one of the biggest challenges artists face, and how businesses can create real environmental impact without greenwashing or compromising their values. In this conversation, you will hear about: Why authenticity matters more than traditional definitions of success How purpose brings clarity to scattered creativity What it really takes to build plastic free products Why Gen Z is demanding real solutions instead of marketing How to consume less while supporting better, more ethical brands The role artists play in shaping culture and sustainability Why now is one of the best times in history to start an impact driven business How AI can support creativity without replacing the human voice Joshua also shares personal reflections on meditation, regret, focus, nutrition, and what it takes to stay aligned while scaling a mission driven brand. This episode is for artists, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who want to build a future rooted in integrity, creativity, and care for the planet. What happens when we slow down to observe the world around us?

In this episode of Artful Impact, host Ekaterina Sky sits down with Danielle Eubank, an internationally acclaimed painter and expedition artist who became the first person to paint all five of the planet’s oceans through her 20-year project One Artist, Five Oceans. Danielle shares how a series of unexpected “accidents” led her to find her voice through painting water,  a subject that is never still, never the same, and difficult to name. Through stories of falling down a mountain, living in a small fishing village, and painting beside the sea day after day, she reflects on how stillness, observation, and presence shape both art and environmental action. Together, they explore: Why water invites calm even though it’s always moving How slowing down helps us reconnect with imagination and clarity Why art must first create passion before it can inspire action The importance of collaboration between artists, scientists, and explorers How pausing in nature resets the nervous system and fuels creativity This conversation is a reminder that art doesn’t need to shout to create impact. Sometimes, its greatest power lies in helping us pause, breathe, and feel, so that meaningful action can follow.
