8/21/26 - Fr. Michael Copenhagen - At What Point Are We Assigned Our Guardian Angel?

Fr. Michael Copenhagen is a Melkite (Eastern Catholic) priest, husband, and father at St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Melkite Catholic Church in Gates, New York. He holds a Bachelor's of Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. In Today's Show: Our Lord tells us to forgive. How much can we forgive without becoming a doormat? What is the difference between being gullible and being forgiving? What commandment does ingratitude towards God break? If a criminal dies right after baptism, and doesn't commit any other sins, will they enter directly into heaven or spend some time in purgatory? What's Father Copenhagen's advice on the epidemic of MGTOW men going their own way and avoiding marriage and children? They claim they want to live in peace and tranquility without getting fleeced in divorce court. What’s up with the Oriental Orthodox Churches? They seem suspicious… are their practices acceptable? It seems Kabbalistic. A priest in town has a very thick accent that makes his sermon hard to understand. His sermons sound very Lutheran, saying that we should only pray to Jesus and to not pray to the saints or the rosary. Should I say something about this? I want to write my thesis on some aspect of St. John Chrysostom’s thought, but I can’t think of anything. I know that in his time there was no systematic theology, so I wanted to ask for your opinion to give me some ideas. I read in one book that your Guardian Angel is assigned at the moment of conception, while in another book I read that it happens at the moment of birth. In the latter case, the book said the baby is under the protection of the mother's Guardian Angel from conception to birth. So which is correct?
