As followers of Jesus, we’ve all asked ourselves hard questions as we go through life and sometimes we feel uncomfortable about asking other people for answers to our real questions. The leaders here at LIFEChurch are launching this new series’ with a goal to provide a place to ask questions about anything and and explore what the Bible has to say about it.

Ep. 5.2 | Why is ”I don’t see color offensive”

In today's episode of Asking For a Friend, Josh and Chastity, Jessica and Lola discuss the question "Why is I don’t see color offensive". We get to hear from all three ladies about how it’s offensive to them and then are given some steps on how we can do better. For this series, we are centering on the point of view of the black and brown community in the church as experienced by these three women. We acknowledge that this is a divisive issue in both the church and our world and we don't have all the answers. We understand there are many views on this topic. These views in the episodes are not necessarily representative of all of LIFEchurch or its leadership, but we believe it's important for all of us to grapple with the complexities of this issue. —— Welcome to Asking For A Friend, a podcast asking questions everyday people are asking around the Christian faith. Ep. 1 | What roles can women participate in the church?

Today's subject is a controversial topic in the church. At LIFEChurch we value authenticity and understand that when we explore certain topics, we may not all see eye to eye, but it's important for us to still have the conversation. In today's episode of Asking for a friend, Josh, Heather and Ben discuss the question "What is the role of women in the church". They explore what the Bible says about it, how God used women throughout history, and they explain the differences between egalitarian and complementarian, the two ways Christians interpret the role of women. _________________ Table of Contents 00:00 - INTRO 00:40 - INTRODUCTIONS 01:45 - THE QUESTION 09:03 - LOOKING AT THE BIBLE 09:10 - GENESIS 16:01 - OLD TESTAMENT WOMEN 17:28 - NEW TESTAMENT WOMEN 20:06 - PAUL AND WOMEN 33:05 - 1 TIMOTHY 3 (Eldership) 40:54 - EGALITARIAN AND COMPLEMENTARIAN 44:01 - RESOURCES ____________________ Submit a question : https://lifechurchnow.org/askingforaf...
