My name is Amy Jung, founder of CornerstoneChristCenteredCoaching.com and writer at WastelandToGraceland.com. Join me bi-weekly for a thought-provoking journey through essential questions for living the Christian life that will help you coach yourself and the people you love. I've been talking and praying with my friend, Suzanne Heitzman, every Tuesday morning for over fifteen years. In each episode, I ask her the same question I ask myself and you. Questions bring honor and value to our relationships and help us live out a life congruent with our faith before the Lord and others.

    8. What Dreams and Desires Get In the Way of More Fully Embracing Jesus and Others?

    8. What Dreams and Desires Get In the Way of More Fully Embracing Jesus and Others?

As Christians, we should be most content with Jesus. What dreams or desires get in the way of this for you? Additional questions: Are my dreams and desires more appealing to me than Jesus’ embrace?
Am I embracing the dream or Jesus, the dream-giver?
After establishing that answer, I’m moving on to the next level of contentment:
Am I thinking correctly about God, the truths of who I am in Christ, and what I have in Him?
Do these truths impact my perspective of life and my level of contentment?
If I answer no, I go on to the next level:
Why? Am I ignoring God’s working in my heart to look to Him for something?
Am I holding onto sin or false belief?

    6. Am I Content With My Level of Contentment?

    6. Am I Content With My Level of Contentment?

While discontentment is inevitable for us as humans, it is possible, through the enabling work of grace through Christ, to be changed into people who are content with Him and with all His spiritual blessings. We will stumble, but we always have hope and help for growth, peace, and rest from striving to know, be, do, and have more. We have all that we need for life and godliness.
