The Joy of the Lord Is Your Strength | Fruit of the Spirit | At Forests Edge Podcast

The joy of the Lord is your strength... but what does that actually mean when your circumstances haven't changed and the joy still feels far away? In this episode of the Fruit of the Spirit series, we look at joy through two Biblical languages, the Greek word chara and the Hebrew word simcha, and discover why joy was never meant to be manufactured... only received. We'll sit with Nehemiah 8:10 and unpack what it means to draw strength from His joy, not our own. Along the way, we meet the Lily of the Valley, a flower that blooms low, in the shaded and sheltered places, not the mountaintop... and ask why that might be the truest picture of joy there is.This is for the woman who has everything she needs and still can't find the joy she thinks she's supposed to feel, and for the woman in a season where happiness feels far away. It's not a pep talk. It's an invitation to open your hands.🌿 New episodes of At Forest's Edge release regularly. Love Was Never a Transaction, It Was Always a Gift | Fruit of the Spirit | At Forest's Edge Podcast

What if the love you grew up with wasn't really love at all, but a counterfeit dressed up in its name? In this episode of the Fruit of the Spirit series, we explore agape, the Greek word for unconditional, sacrificial love that gives freely and never keeps score. We'll trace this love through scripture, through ancient stories like Alcestis and Hans Christian Andersen's original Little Mermaid, and all the way to the cross, where Romans 5 tells us Christ died for us while we were still sinners, before we had done anything to earn it.We'll also uncover the word agapetos, meaning beloved, the same word spoken over Jesus at His baptism and the word that names you in your relationship with the Father. This episode is for anyone who learned love as something to be earned and is ready to receive it instead as the free gift it was always meant to be. I'll close with the watercolor rose painting inspired by this fruit, and what its fragrance teaches us about love poured out completely. In this episode:What agape really means in scriptureThe difference between transactional love and unconditional loveAncient stories that pointed toward agape before it had a nameRomans 5:6...8 and the love that came for us at our most unworthyThe word agapetos and what it means to be called belovedThe watercolor rose and the fruit it representsSubscribe for the full Fruit of the Spirit series, exploring each fruit through scripture, word study, story, and watercolor art.At Forests Edge is a Christian storytelling podcast for women seeking deeper faith, hope, and renewal. Why Do We Compare Ourselves to Others? | Woven: Beauty Is Not Becoming Someone Else | At Forests Edge Podcast #6

She spent her whole life believing her eyes were a color they never were. Nobody had looked closely enough to tell her the truth, and neither has the beauty industry ever looked closely enough at you. This special episode of At Forest's Edge is a faith-based deep dive into beauty, identity, and self-worth, pulling from an ancient Greek myth about a golden apple, a radical declaration hidden in Song of Solomon, and the Hebrew words behind Psalm 139:14 that completely reframe what "fearfully and wonderfully made" actually means. If you've ever felt like you were competing against a standard that keeps moving, if you're raising a daughter in a world already measuring her, if you've been told the very thing that makes you unique is the thing that's wrong with you, this episode was made for you.At Forests Edge is a Christian storytelling podcast for women seeking deeper faith, hope, and renewal. When Life Doesn’t Make Sense, Is God Still Working? | Romans 8:28: God Is Still Weaving Your Story | At Forests Edge Podcast #4

At Forest's Edge: Episode 4: Romans 8:28, The Unfinished Tapestry What does it mean to trust God when all you can see is the back of the tapestry, the knots, the loose threads, the colors that make no sense? In this episode, we go deep into Romans 8:28, exploring the original Greek word synergeo and what it really means that God is "working all things together for good." This isn't a greeting-card devotional. It's a raw, personal conversation about surviving, the seasons that crush us, and how that crushing, like an olive press, can release something the unbroken version of us could never have produced. We'll look at the imagery of the weaver and the loom across Norse mythology, Greek mythology, and Tolkien's legendarium, and how every culture has reached for the same truth scripture names outright. If you're walking through grief, addiction in your family, trauma recovery, or a season that feels like abandonment, this episode is for you. Topics covered: Romans 8:28 meaning, trusting God in suffering, healing from trauma, biblical encouragement for hard seasons, faith and mental health, finding hope in the valley, Christian devotional for women, scripture study and Bible word study, the Gethsemane olive press meaning, hope after trauma. Mentioned in this episode: The Happy Little Sunflower: Finding Hope in the Valley (available on Amazon, English and bilingual editions, with scripture coloring companion) and the Romans 8:28 painting, available at atforestsedge.com. 🎧 Subscribe for new episodes of At Forest's Edge, where we pull on threads of faith, story, and scripture until we find what they're connected to. What If the Future Feels Uncertain? | Trusting God with Tomorrow | At Forests Edge Podcast #3

There is a particular kind of fear that lives three weeks ahead of you. This episode is for the woman who is already bracing for a tomorrow that hasn't come, running the worst version in her mind, furnishing it with details, exhausted by a catastrophe that may never arrive. The one who sat down with the numbers, or the diagnosis, or the silence, and felt the stone settle in her chest. Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. And you are still standing in it. In this episode we explore: The Greek word merimnaó (μεριμνάω): the word translated "worry" in Matthew 6:34, meaning a divided mind, pulled in two directions, and why Jesus wasn't asking you to feel nothing but to stop living in two days at once. 1 Peter 5:7:what it actually means to cast your anxiety, the active, intentional release of a fisherman's line, made possible only because He cares for you. The hero who was never ready : Frodo Baggins, the youngest son in every fairy tale, and the reluctant man of Project Hail Mary,  and what they teach us about courage that isn't the absence of fear. A personal story from Raeanna about budgeting for a family of seven, the last Friday of every month, and the math that doesn't explain itself. This is not a podcast of quick answers or easy encouragement. It is a place for the hard, sacred truth that grace was never meant to be stored. It arrives with the day. Not three weeks early. Not before you need it. You are here. Which means the thing you feared either never came, or it came and you were given exactly what you needed, exactly when you needed it. You have never, not once, walked into a tomorrow unprovided for. ✦ MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE Matthew 6:34 | 1 Peter 5:7 | Lamentations 3:23 The Today Is the Tomorrow You Worried About Yesterday painting :atforestsedge.com ✦ FIND RAEANNA Website + show notes + newsletter: atforestsedge.com Watercolor art + tutorials: YouTube @Raeanna-ArtistOfHope ✦ IF THIS FOUND YOU Share it with the woman who is already living in next week. Are You Exhausted From Surviving? | Just Breathe | At Forests Edge Podcast #2

There is a particular kind of tired that has nothing to do with sleep. This episode is for the woman in survival mode, the one holding everything together with her bare hands, breathing hard, praying the wordless kind of prayer. The one who woke up this morning already exhausted, already bracing for the next thing. Just breathe. Those two words are going to mean something before we reach the end. In this episode we explore: The Hebrew word neshamah (נְשָׁמָה) - the divine breath God breathed into Adam in Genesis 2:7, and why every breath you have ever taken carries the fingerprint of God Elijah under the juniper tree in 1 Kings 19 - the prophet who had just witnessed fire fall from heaven and then sat in the wilderness and asked God to let him die, and what God did next John 20:22 - the moment the risen Jesus stood in the locked room of human fear and breathed on His disciples: peace, presence, and power for what was comingA personal story from Raeanna about a season of homelessness, two small children, a shelter, and the swing set where God met her in the barely-breathing This is not a podcast of quick answers or easy encouragement. It is a place for the hard, sacred truth that God does not wait for you to perform your way back to fine before He shows up. He shows up under the juniper tree. In the locked room. At the swing set. In the survival. You don't have to climb out of survival mode alone You are still breathing. That is neshamah! His breath in you, the first gift, the one that has never stopped. Have You Ever Felt Invisible? | The Women Who Shimmer : Why Quiet Women Matter | At Forests Edge Podcast #1

Have you ever felt overshadowed by louder voices? In a world that celebrates sparkle, what if God has a special purpose for those who shimmer? In this opening episode of At Forests Edge, we're exploring the quiet beauty of women who reflect light rather than demand attention. Through Psalm 34:5, the Hebrew word nahar ("to shine" or "be radiant"), and the wonder of the moon, fireflies, and moonflowers, we'll discover why quiet faithfulness often carries a deeper influence than we realize. This episode is for the woman who listens more than she speaks. The woman who notices what others miss. The woman who has wondered if her gifts are too small, too quiet, or too different to matter. Together we'll explore what it means to become radiant simply by turning our faces toward God, and why some of the most powerful lights in the world were never meant to be spotlights. You were never meant to be someone else's kind of light. You were created to shimmer. Welcome to At Forests Edge , a storytelling and faith podcast for the woman who has always asked the deeper questions.
