Atheists Read the Bible!

I laughed out loud at the imagery of god sounding like Woody Allen. The comparing of a modern translation to the Talmud was intriguing. You didn’t know who King James was? That surprised me. I do find it hilarious that crazy fundy Christianity thinks his commissioned translation is the ONLY TRUE WORD OF GOD. King James was at the least bisexual. He is believed to have up to three different male lovers. Fundies hate anything other than male dominated heterosexual, marital sex. At least that’s what they say out loud. I personally read this chapter more as a lyrical poem, mainly because of the repetitive use of phrase throughout. Like you, I could happily go down rabbit trails of discussion on each verse. Despite it’s many flaws, the Bible is a fascinating collection of ancient texts. On to chapter 2

I’m pretty progressive, but this ‘cast does a great job bringing up questions and asking the questions that are what faith is all about... trying to figure out what the heck it means and how to understand these stories that have fascinated and confused people for centuries.

These guys have a very interesting take. I listened, I laughed, and I think I learned something.
