A truly transformative experience

If you're on the lookout for a podcast that sparkles with insight, inspiration, and nuggets of wisdom, look no further. This gem of a podcast is a treasure trove of valuable insights, delivered with passion and authenticity that truly shines through each episode. Hosted by Corey Best, an engaging host, each Audio Nugget is a delightful mix of freedom dreams, practical advice, and thought-provoking discussions on personal and professional growth in the abolitionist’s movement. Corey asks the most thought provoking questions and I often pause, and think “how would I answer this.” Listening to this podcast has been a transformative experience for me. Each episode is like discovering a precious nugget of wisdom that I can carry with me on my own journey. In a podcast landscape filled with noise, Audio Nuggets stands out as a shining beacon of authenticity. It is a true gem that deserves to be treasured by all who seek to mine the depths of their movement work.

Deeply Needed

This podcast is a true treasure. Corey engages in probing conversations with movement leaders, academics, advocates and family policing experts across the country. The podcast sheds lights on trends, perspectives and unearths the ideologies with the fight to support Black families. Many of us in this space are working, often in silo, to build ideas, momentum and strategies. I have been introduced to many thought leaders through this podcast, but even more I have learned from so many. It has profoundly shaped the way I can now develop policies, laws, and political strategies. One might even say it’s a miniature child welfare higher education program, functioning to bring us the best “lecturers” around the country. This podcast also serves an extraordinary archival purpose. The fight shift institutional policies is a long one, and Mining For Gold archives the political moments in time, the developments on the ground and the grass tops work. It provides a complete picture of the work, and functions like a history book.

A must listen

This podcast is thought provoking to say the least. Each episode centers black voice, experience, and brilliance in a justice centered yet hopeful way. If you do it right you will be unpacking your own beliefs and experiences regardless of your role in abolition. These are truly enjoyable to listen to and Corey does a masterful job in lifting voices.
