Due to the illness of Alzheimer’s, she is not able to speak like she once could. Her granddaughters, Patrice and Aniyah who were very close with her, decided to team up and pay homage.

    Episode 14: Do It Scared

    This month the gurls briefly speak on facing their fears. Rather it’s their career endeavors or taking part in risky adventures, at some point you have to run towards what scares you. In life there’s turbulence, some people experience it worst than others. What matters is how you overcome the waves and coast through it while feeling angst. You have to be confident in knowing you’ll land on your feet. The stories shared amongst the gurls are testimonies that proves the universe will work in your favor, just have to trust it.

With an impressive career spanning over 15 years, she has firmly established herself as a dominant force in the realm of hair extensions through her extensive experience and educational background.     EP. 12: Audrey's Gurl's Kinfolk (BHM)

    Photographic memory, architecture, badassery, intellect, legacy, and passing tales. This episode is packed with stories of Audrey’s Gurl’s family tree to close out Black History Month. We hear many great stories of powerful and courageous stories. Why not share our own? The gurls made a pact to retell these stories and learn where they come from in honor of their grandmother, Audrey. Overtime they’ve been digging through archived photos, articles, and connecting with family to piece together their lineage. There’s so much they can share from entrepreneurship to gangster-like crazy moments. Little do they know, they’re just scratching the surface of their family’s legacy.

    Ep. 11: Enough (Green Tea Segment)

    YERRRRRR! What’s good Fanny Packs! We did our big one! We finally recorded our very first episode for YouTube. We're rookies at it but we’re going big this year! Yes, initially this was supposed to be posted in 2023 but hey, the universe had other plans.  Relationships, dating, celibacy, texturism; we uncovered it all in the first green tea segment for  episode 11. We’ve experienced so much in 2023 with pivoting careers and navigating through grief. We appreciate you all for rockin’ with us, taking the time to listen and engage with us, it means the world. You could be doing a million other things with your time, and yet you carved out some time in your day for us. This year we’re hitting the ground running with content and more guests. We hope you all are starting the new year in great spirits. Disclaimer: Oh yeah, you’ll definitely hear some pitter patter, jumps and thumps throughout the end of episode 11, our mic wasn’t on so it picked up the sound of little Gav, Patrice’s son. We’re learning as we go so shout out to y’all for always giving us grace! And shout out to lil’ Gav for living his best life! Which is EXACTLY  what we plan to do all 2024, unapologetically!  *drops mic*

    Fanny Packs!!! WE’RE FINALLY BACK and with our latest episode! Still experiencing tech issues but we don’t want to keep sitting on this episode. ✨ EP. 10 Marcus & Branden - American Dreamin’  We interviewed Patrice’s brother, Branden and her husband, Marcus. Although they have different lifestyles, these two men have so much in common. From household dynamics, losing a parent at an early age to growing up in the Midwest where resources were limited and adversity was at the forefront in Black communities. And still, they’ve prevailed!  These two men have a wealth of knowledge. From college grads to businessmen navigating through fatherhood. Not only do they share advice on how to pivot and get ahead, they express vulnerability with sharing their coming of age experiences.

    EP. 9: Chasing Perfection (Pushing P)

    What's good Fanny Packs! The gurls discuss a common theme that they're now fighting against, perfection. There's other themes that continuously reappear in their lives: peace, power, progression, productivity and pivoting; which supports the well known phrase "pushing P. '' - well their remix definition that is. Are there areas in your life where you too feel the need to push away perfection, relinquish power, push in the direction of having a peace of mind while simultaneously breaking away from productivity? Whelp, you're in the right space for that discourse. Pushing P. is also a way of the gurls saying they're pushing away false ideals while unlearning old habits.     EP. 8: Sunne - H.E.A.L

    In honor of National Minority Mental Health Month the gurls have a discussion with Sunne Perry-Bailey and discuss the importance of self-care, self-love, and self-acceptance. Sunne aka The Whole Healing Homie is definitely a person you should get to know. As a wife and a mom of two she does it all. Sunne is a licensed clinical social worker, clinical substance counselor and CEO.  Sunne breaks down her definition of healing and shares her self-acclaimed acronym she created, H.E.A.L: Honesty, Examination, Action, and Love. Sunne emphasizes the need for self-respect and detachment when experiencing burnout due to lack of systems and resources. She shares her journey with creating Heal, Girl Heal; how she too seeks guidance as a healer and counselor, advocating for therapy (in religious spaces), mental and physical health awareness, setting boundaries, implementing different techniques to evolve, where to find resources for mental health needs, working in the psychiatric unit, and overcoming adversity during her entrepreneurial pivot.  Additionally Sunne emphasizes the importance of reaching out to someone if they have suicidal thoughts or feelings of not wanting to live, as it does not mean they will lose their rights. She suggests contacting the National Mental Health Crisis Line for assistance if they don't have someone in their vicinity who can assist them.
