    The Athlete Drive & Mom Strength w/ Ally Nwobi

    To kick off a new era of Authentic Performance, this week’s guest is Ally Nwobi! Ally played volleyball and softball through high school, and then softball in college at Shasta College & Azusa Pacific. Now that she is a teacher and mom, her exercise routine looks different than it used to – mostly home pilates and running. She has completed several half marathons and even a marathon last year! Even though her athletic role has changed since college, she still deeply values her health and has learned to be flexible with what her capacity is while taking care of her family.     New Routines Post-College Athletics w/ Halliday Hubbard

    This week’s guest is a friend of mine, and former competitor, Halliday Hubbard! Halliday and I went to rival high schools and played against each other in sports, but stayed friends off the court and field. After graduation, she went on to play basketball and softball at College of the Siskiyous. Then she transferred to Bushnell University where she played softball. Now, she is attending graduate school at Linfield University. She hopes to mentor young female athletes, especially sharing her faith journey and experience as a collegiate athlete. Halliday also shares about the transition out of competitive sports and how she is managing her time and new routines. I loved getting to catch up with Halliday, and I’m so grateful she felt confident sharing her story!

    This week's podcast guest is Tyler Zach, an author and certified Enneagram coach, who facilitates workshops tailored for both church groups and business teams. He is the co-founding pastor of One Hope Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Tyler's @gospelforenneagram Instagram account has seen remarkable growth, attracting a vibrant community of over 47,000 followers. Currently, Tyler is dedicating his efforts to write faith-based 40-day devotionals that cater to each of the 9 Enneagram personality types. Additionally, he is actively involved in producing and hosting the EnneaSummit, a virtual conference that brings thousands of Enneagram enthusiasts together to learn from world-class speakers. In preparation for this podcast, Tyler polled his followers to research athletes and the enneagram. In this episode, he shares his findings. It was an honor to talk to Tyler, and I learned so much about how Christians can approach the enneagram, even specifically looking at its role in athletics.     To kick off another incredible season of the podcast, we hear from Noah Weiss, an Engagement Associate & Content Coordinator for the Uncommon Sports Group! USG is an organization that equips Christians to work in sports by providing networking opportunities, group Bible studies, a curriculum for members called the Academy, mission trips, and much more. I had the opportunity to serve in Kenya last summer with Noah and his wife Erin leading our group and it was incredible to see the Lord work. In this episode, we talked a lot about USG's mission and Noah's current role and past experiences as well as personal faith stories and how to serve others in an industry that is often secular. Neil is the mental performance coach for GCU's men’s rugby and was recently selected to become a member of the Human Performance Team at Holloman Air Force Base where he will provide mental performance training for Air Force fighter pilots. Neil has a military background serving for 27.5 years in the Air Force. Now, his company, Arizona Mental Performance Training, is a leader in human performance and wellbeing through comprehensive education, training, support, and resources to enhance mental, emotional, and physical capabilities. He works with competitive athletes, coaches, and parents as well as corporate leaders and high-risk professionals. We talked about resilience, mental skills training, gratitude, and so much more! My dad is the rock of our family, a constant supporter of all the endeavors of myself and my siblings, and a great resource for athletes and coaches! In college, he played football at Willamette University and then had the opportunity to play overseas at the semi-professional level in Paris, France. After settling into his career selling lumber, he started coaching at his alma mater. Since then, he has raised three kids (all being active in athletics) balancing “dad”, “coach”, “supporter”, and many other roles.
