I took part in a writing prompt recently that asked me to do one thing, write a letter to myself at 100. Being in the middle of such a difficult time with a prodigal, I often forget to look beyond the next few moments. And I forget the joy that has existed in my past. This exercise gave me the opportunity to do both. There is more to my life than just addiction even though it confronts me every day.
