In front of an audience at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic, the English stage and screen actor reflects on his path from a rough childhood to his star-making role in 'Croupier'; why he wasn't excited about the prospect of playing James Bond; what it was like playing different characters in the stage and screen versions of 'Closer'; why, since 'The Knick,' he has increasingly worked in TV; and more.
This episode is presented by Lasvit, a Bohemian design and artisan house that creates sublime artworks of glass that can be found all around the world; and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

    Sean Penn - 'Daddio'

In a rare interview, the man often described as the greatest actor of his generation reflects on how his blacklisted father, brilliant acting teacher and early theater director set him on his path; why he grew less attracted to working in front of the camera and more attracted to working behind it; and how he came to be cast in — and approached playing — some of the most memorable roles of his career, including his most recent, as a chatty cab driver probing Dakota Johnson's mysterious passenger in Christy Hall's directorial debut.

Live audience episodes unbearable

Love this podcast but the live episodes with an audience are really annoying. I don’t mind them clapping for the opening segment and asking questions but their need to clap and hoot every little thing is distracting and makes the episode unlistenable
