Nothing decreases the cost of acquisition and lifetime value of clients like a network of great relationships, and the ultimate version of that is a community designed around your clients and prospects. BUT where do you find the playbook that makes that happen? That is why this podcast exists. You'll learn that community building doesn't live in a vacuum. It has to coexist with a problem you are trying to solve, a category you are in (or better yet, designing yourself), and the culture you are building inside your organization. THE GOOD NEWS building up to it can have many short-term wins on the way, as long as you are strategic about it. This show will provide you the strategies you need to accomplish the ultimate goal of building a community around your business, and provide abilities to connect with experts in the disciplines needed to build a profitable company where ownership, employees, and clients genuinely like each other.

Ep 192 | (Special Keynote) From 0 To Community In 4 Weeks: A Strategy That Even Your CFO Will Love

Ep 192 | (Special Keynote) From 0 To Community In 4 Weeks: A Strategy That Even Your CFO Will Love

In 2020, we launched a community as a service to our client that led to $40M in revenue in year 1, and it has only gotten better since.

But we were lucky to have a C-Suite that was willing to endure a 6 month period where it wasn't clear the community would yield business results.

So we took a closer look at what really made it work to see if there was anything we could do to speed up the positive feedback loop.

That's when we realized most of the value originated from 25 super-members, and it completely changed the way we approach a community launch.

     We realized that:

IF we can sprint to activate a nucleus of 15-25 members,

THEN the positive outcomes of community will produce business results faster,

SO your C-suite can't say "no"!

By the end of 2021, we figured out how... and to top it all off, it pays for itself on the front end!

It is simple strategy of creating a cohort based online class to bring your tribe on a journey together, unite them, and then continue to nurture them/add value by making them the heroes of the community.

    In this session, you'll learn:

    - what we did to launch the year 1 $40M community (this was just direct attribution!)
    - how to incorporate an online cohort to accelerate the results of your community (and have the launch pay for itself!)
    - what are the next steps once the 4 weeks are over and it's time to make sure you keep engagement up in your community (everyone's biggest issue!)

Time make community available to everyone!

Ep 191 | What VC Money Thinks of Community w/ Randall Crowder

Community has hit a tipping point in marketing circles, and it's rapidly getting thrown into company playbooks, but if Venture Capital doesn't buy in, it won't transcend corporate culture.

So let's find out what VC's think of it right now.

Randal and I will talked about:

    - why VC money hasn't started flowing into community yet
    - what influencer marketing means to the world of venture backed firms

Ep 190 | How To Drive Profit From Community (and Measure It Too!) w/ Venia Logan

Ep 190 | How To Drive Profit From Community (and Measure It Too!) w/ Venia Logan

Community is quickly becoming a buzzword, and the only reason more people haven't bough in is because they think there is no way to measure it.

But they're wrong because they are all only looking at it from a marketers' lens.

Social sciences have been measuring community for a long time.

That's why when I found a trained anthropologist turned marketer that is a skilled data scientist, I had to have her on.  Little did I know that my first conversation with Venia Logan would be hands down the most compelling conversation I've had about community EVER.

Seriously.  I've never heard anyone that strikes right at the heart of what I've been trying to explain so succinctly and tangibly as she does.

I can't freaking wait to host her on the show to talk about:

    - How to look at marketing ROI from community (lead generation, LTV, content performance)
    - What makes a community brand work and traditional brands not work
    - why the advantage as community is becoming a bigger advantage than you ever (and why it has been ignored until now)
    - and so much more!

Come to meet pick Venia's brain, and stay for the strategy session, or pick whatever works for you.

In 2010, Venia transitioned from male to female and put her entire 10-year journey on Youtube. Over the next decade, that decision has snowballed into an active and healthy career in community management, diversity, education, and measurement in anonymous community health.

In 2012, she created RESCQU.NET. – a nonprofit organization that simultaneously marketed to an invisible audience and catered to their anonymity. In 2017, she graduated with a degree focused on community management that took her around the world. In 2017 she became a full-stack marketer at DigitalMarketer. For the past 5 years, she has built quantitative and qualitative data measurement tools for brand communities online. With SociallyConstructed.Online she is committed to helping businesses build robust, self-sustainable communities. She wants to offer you and your business that same chance.

Ep 189 | How He Built a Multi-City Community From Scratch w/ Francisco Arizmendi

Ep 189 | How He Built a Multi-City Community From Scratch w/ Francisco Arizmendi

By now, you probably understand that some sort of combination of live events and content can build a powerful community, and you know who you want to help, but how do you plan it, execute it, and grow it from scratch?

That's exactly what Francisco Arizmendi did for Freshbooks, and it completely changed his career.

As he starts a new role to build ANOTHER great community for Superside, he's here to share how he hit his first home run and how he's going to do it again!

    He shared:

    - how he got started from zero with a small budget
    - why he was able to scale it across North America through live event
    - what mistakes he made early on that has changed his playbook
    - and much more!

From the moment I met Francisco in 2019, I was in awe of what he was doing, and have been DYING to have him on the show to talk about it.  It's finally happened!

Francisco Arizmendi is a community builder, podcaster, content creative, and event producer. His passion lies in connecting humans and companies in authentic and meaningful ways. He is the co-creator of FreshBooks’ global event series #imakealiving and the I Make a Living Podcast (Apple and Stitcher's top 10 Business Podcast). He has produced content, video, webinars, etc. for FreshBooks and Tribe. Recently, Francisco joined the team at Superside, where he will launch a brand new community space for marketers, designers, and creatives in 2022.

Ep 188 | How To Be A Guest On More Podcasts (Secrets of a Booking Agent) w/ Spencer Carpenter

Ep 188 | How To Be A Guest On More Podcasts (Secrets of a Booking Agent) w/ Spencer Carpenter

Podcasts continue to be an underrated tool to get your message out there, build your tribe, and grow demand for your products.

But most people (I'm looking at you, PR agencies) either don't know how to reach out to them, or worse, value them correctly.

That's why we're going to dive deep into strategies to get on more podcasts from a master at this craft- booking agent, Spencer Carpenter.

    Spencer taught us:

    - how to pitch yourself on the shows you want to be on
    - what tools to use to find the right shows
    - why what you do after being on a show makes all the difference
    - who is using podcasts effectively to build community

    Lisen to this!

Spencer Carpenter is the founder of Outlier Audio, a full service podcast booking agency that represents talented entrepreneurs, business professionals, and investors, specializing in real estate investors. Prior to being in the podcasting space, Spencer spent over a decade working in the music industry, taking on various roles including talent management and representation, event and festival organizing, record label head, VIP Meet & Greet coordinator, merchandising, and more.  Spencer's pivot to the podcasting space came when the music industry shut down due to COVID-19 and he saw a need to help entrepreneurs, investors and business professionals get on to the new medium as a way to continue growing their business.
