Worth it All w/ Rita Springer
As we close SZN 1 Jamie brings you a raw backstage conversation with world renowned worship artist and songwriter, Rita Springer. Rita tells Jamie about a day as an 11 year old that she was practicing the piano as usual when she struck an “unfamiliar chord” and everything changed. She openly shares her journey from that point on; the beautiful moments and the heart wrenching ones. She talks about God’s early call to double down on Presence no matter the cost, she shares obstacles along the way, what she believes every time she goes on stage and dishes on her favorite worship sets (it’s not what you think). She also has a special word for millennials about authenticity and “feels” in worship and she shares the story behind her song (and Jamie’s 2019 anthem) “Defender”. Enjoy this conversation and never forget, “It’s Gonna Be Worth It”.

Psych Patient to Pastor
Jeremy Donovan speaks honestly with Jamie about how a childhood abuse trauma led to a life of depression, substance abuse, mental illness, homelessness and suicide attempts. He unpacks his story of pain and redemption but also one of heartbreaking consequences as he shares his journey from the streets of Philadelphia to eventually pastoring in South Dallas. Jeremy also dishes on his favorite restaurants in Dallas and he agrees with Jamie; the worse a restaurant looks from the outside the better the food being handed out from the inside! Enjoy this unbelievable story and be encouraged that no life is beyond the grip of grace.

Jamie talks with her sister Jody, a registered dietitian, about how to maintain a healthy body image in a world consumed with diet culture, air brushing and photoshopping. Jody breaks down how to have a healthy relationship with food, shares practical choices we can make that contribute to overall health and talks about ways to break vicious cycles of self-hate and weight obsession. Enjoy a glimpse into these sisters hilarious relationship, Jodys refreshing and freeing approach on these subjects and her infectious laughter!
9/11, Loss & Learning to Live Twice Blessed
September 11th, 2001 was a horrific day as we sat riveted to our TVs watching the Twin Towers crumble to the ground with 2,977 people in them. The day was especially traumatic for Jamie’s guest Shelly, whose husband was on the 104th floor of the North Tower that day. She shares with Jamie their love story, some unexpected difficulties moving to New York, how they grew in love through every season, and about their little girl who was only 16 months when Steve Genovese kissed her goodbye the morning of 9/11. Shelly shares about the call Steve made after the tower was hit and her process of grief when he never came home. Through devastating loss she has a message that will surprise you; that even when our stories don’t end the way we think they should there is always hope for a “twice blessed” life.
