About a week post-Dobbs, Briahna speaks to public defender and periodic co-host at The Hill Rising Olayemi Olurin & comedian and podcaster Kate Willet about the Democratic party response and what this means about the state of women's' rights in America. It's a long overdue kvetch-sesh with two of the funniest leftists around, about a subject that's no laughing matter.

Finally, sociologist, anthropologist Dr. Dan Souleles joins from Copenhagen to apply his work on financial capitalism, and the role private equity has played in the housing market. The conversation spans the practical to the philosophical, and only deepens as it progresses. Stick around till the end, and join Briahna on Callin later this evening to discuss.

Episode 185 - Is "Wokeness" Killing the Left? (w/ Freddie DeBoer & Pascal Robert)
Subscribe to Bad Faith on Patreon to instantly unlock our full premium episode library: http://patreon.com/badfaithpodcast
Last week, Sam Adler-Bell's provocative New York Magazine piece on the problem with contemporary "wokeness" discourse launched a thousand Twitter threads and response pieces. Many were critical, but does he have a point? Is there something toxic about how resistant some on the left are to talking to people who don't already agree with us? And if the goal is to reach a wider audience, doesn't that require us to use different language than we do when preaching to the choir? At what point does changing our language implicate the underlying morals and values? And does abandoning woke language mean abandoning the populations it's meant to serve? Pascal Robert of This is Revolution & Freddie deBoer of his eponymous blog join Briahna to talk Lizzo's lyric change, that NPR tweet about "menstruating people," the viral "What Is a Woman" film, and more.

Customer Reviews
Brie is amazing
Been a listener and supporter for years but interview w/Ro Khanna is her best work imo. Outstanding truth telling and exposing a truly disappointing “progressive”
Smart/Stupid
This is one of those podcasts where there is absolutely nothing but word salad that people mistake for intelligent conversation.
The easy breezy tone is out of sync
Liked it in the beginning because of her easy affect but as the chaos increases her laughing things off seems very odd
