Episode 47: "Better Late Than Never II"

Sheeesh! On this week's episode of BFTC, we went full barbershop mode and debated several interesting music topics. Before that though, the episode kicked off with us discussing fashion, the declining shopping experience at the mall, and how Elon Musk is quickly ruining one of our favorite apps (20:00).

Later on in the episode, we debated who we thought would win in a Verzuz between the 2016 XXL Freshmen Class (37:40), who has the greater hits between Travis Scott and Chief Keef (50:00), what ONE hip-hop song we would show the aliens if they arrived (1:00:10), and which album would age better between "Her Loss" and "Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers" (1:12:45). Sit back and enjoy the back and forth!

    Episode 46: "Meat Lover's Pizza"

It's been a few weeks, but we're back with another jam-packed episode of "Bad For The Community"! We kicked it off by speaking on Elon Musk's recent acquisition of Twitter and whether we think the end of Twitter is near (0:08). We then had to pay our tributes to Takeoff after his tragic passing, which then led to an important conversation around the impact of music and its influence on gun violence (7:30). Of course, we also shared our thoughts on the new Drake x 21 Savage collab album (26:10), Drake's subliminal disses toward Megan Thee Stallion (49:00), and the controversy surrounding Kyrie Irving and the Jewish community (59:00). Enjoy the episode!

    Episode 45: "Low Vibrational Negrocity"

    Episode 45: "Low Vibrational Negrocity"

Just when we started wondering what we were going to talk about this week, Draymond Green punched the SH-T out of his own teammate and Kanye decided to wild out with his "White Lives Matter" shirts. You can't make this stuff up!

We kicked off this episode by reacting to the leaked video of Draymond superman punching Jordan Poole (0:20),  Kanye's recent social media tirade and his polarizing relationship with the Black community (20:30), and discussed whether we should be separating an artist from their art (39:45).

In the second half of the episode, our recap of the BET Hip-Hop award winners (53:10) leads to Rob sharing why he has an issue with a particular Doja Cat song (1:06:05). We wrapped up the episode talking about female rap beefs (1:18:30), if the podcast is affecting our friendship (1:23:00), and scary movies (1:26:35). Enjoy the episode!

We our back with a new setup and a special guest this week, Exoshakeem! After performing at The Chamber, Nate, Rob, Exo, and Tomo recap their experience on going to head-to-head in a Verzuz-like competition between each other and other Boston rappers (2:00)! We also discussed being snubbed by the Boston Music Awards and not receiving a nomination for "Best Music Podcast" (49:10). Exoshakeem also speaks on his process of creating his latest EP "DELUXE" and what he's got coming up next (1:10:10)!

Later on in the episode, we reacted to some NFL news: Rihanna being announced as the Super Bowl Halftime performer (1:17:40), Lamar Jackson's contract (1:23:25), and Tua Tagovailoa's disturbing injury (1:23:25). Pretty solid podcast! I throughly enjoy listening to these groups of friends talk about music, Black culture, etc. I like how they dive into various topics and bring facts and good but different takes. And as a Black woman, I appreciate their effort to talk about certain topics/issues, others would ignore or skip over. Keep it up 👏🏾

Funny + Insightful Conversation

Unfiltered, hilarious, yet surprisingly very insightful. These guys can go from sharing funny stories to talking about serious issues that go on in their own communities. Highly recommend! …and each of them also make great music, so definitely go listen to that, too.
