    Episode 177 - 5 Ways To Think Bigger

    Episode 177 - 5 Ways To Think Bigger

    o more for your clients, teams and customers.  We're used to thinking of incremental improvement as 1-2% improvement or delivery over time...but when it comes to innovation, you need to have ideas that are way bigger than that.  Multiply your ambition.

    * Don't think 10% less waste reduction...think 80%
    * 5 New Products this year instead of 1
    * Don't just fix a problem for your team, fix it for the whole firm.  Fix the impossible - do things that have never been done before.
    * Eliminate all meetings
    * Don't create processes to improve performance, create a whole performance culture
    * Abolish all reports.  Show done work instead
    * Increase new skill learning by 500%

    -Don't worry about having - or conform to - popular ideas
    -Don't ask for permission for your ideas

    Episode 175 - Outgrow

    Episode 175 - Outgrow

    Employee Thinking - allowing others (or the firm and its rules) to limit how far you can expand, what you can achieve, who you can talk to, what you can say, how fast you move, and what you do.  Permission-based thinking.

    * If you don't have autonomy - the freedom to make decisions related to your job, including growth and passion - you're not going to enjoy your job very much
    * You can't let clients or employers version of reality permeate yours
    * Heroes - people who stretch beyond the usual, the expected - all bets about what you're "allowed to do or be" are off
    * A badass leader does not let others define them
    * The belief that you have to walk the line or be fired is exactly that - a belief.  You can choose it, or not.
    * The only person interested in your expansion is YOU
    * When you hear the word "can't" (above the age of 13 anyway) you need to run in the opposite direct
    * If you allow others to control and direct you, you cannot fully lead teams
    * Your duty is to fulfil the promise of agility - to break through tradition and old ways of working, eliminate waste, enable people
    * As always, balance is key.  Courage and sovereignty is tempered by humility and service

    Badass Unscripted - Choose Scary

    Badass Unscripted - Choose Scary

    Make a choice to be Comfortable with the Uncomfortable

    * Fear impacts decisions, and decisions dictate results
    * Its a huge mistake to avoid scary in order to feel safe
    * Nothing happens until you choose the uncomfortable
    * So ask tough questions
    * Say controversial things
    * Repeat until comfortable
    * Then...stretch into the uncomfortable again
    * I know I'm speaking to certain people...the 1% who are ready to explore, to push, to challenge...that's exactly who you need to be to make impact

    Episode 174 - Monitor Your Inputs

    Episode 174 - Monitor Your Inputs

    * The quality of your leadership, your ability to inspire others and your ability to make decisions is based entirely on what you let inside your head - your social circle, social media, the people you take counsel from, the books you read, your environment at work, at home and beyond.
    * Read great books - not just those that agree with you, ,but also those that don't. Read beyond agile books - philosophy, fiction, business books. Use a book summarization service to save time and find things that speak to your interests
    * Mare sure you're not watching limited thinking or 'echo chamber' ideas on social media - linkedin, instagram, youtube, etc
    * Remember that what you see in the social space is middle-of-the-road 'agreeable agile'.
    * Question everything.- make sure what you consume is not 'permission-based' or 'certainty-based' thinking, because it won't expand or amplify your career
    * Think more boldly - don't worry about people-pleasing or staying on the party line
    * Watch who surrounds you at work - very negative people who are not growing, sharing their art, and expanding current thinking - because they will limit your reach in order to make themselves feel safer.
    * Be change. Don't be intimidated by change. Don't let people keep you from making better, more expansive choices. "You're the average of the five people you spend the most time with" - Jim Rohn
    * You will eventually have to go in uncomfortable and opposing ?". "Are these behaviours likely to make change, and take me where I want to go?". "Are these people where I want to be?" Are they making change the way I want to make change?"
