For the past seven years, I’ve been listening to podcasts. For the past five years, ttrpg specifically. I’ve never written a review, but I HAD to for this podcast! I’ve needed this in a podcast for SOOOOO long! It's wonderful listening to a collaborative story that I can relate to on levels I haven't been able to while listening to other actual-plays. There are pop culture references that I don't have to look up because I’m familiar with its culture. (After all, they're my own.) I love the chaos in this show! The antics are ATMOSPHERIC, but I'm always tickled to see where it will go! I love the banter and the sass; it adds to the experience for me! The cast is ABSOLUTELY EXTRAORDINARY!!! Yes, they are playing characters in an actual play, but you can really feel how they bring themselves into it. It's truly authentic! So, yeah, thanks for being a (recent but BIG) staple in my year as a black queer; it really does feel like I'm at the table with friends. Everyone should listen, especially those like myself, haha! I'm so excited to tune in every two weeks! ~sb 💕
