Be The Bag Live

April Terrell

Be The Bag Live is for the woman on a mission who is tired—not tired of dreaming, creating, or wanting more, but tired of chasing everything outside herself while quietly wondering, “Is this really the life I want?” Hosted by April, this is where we have honest, funny, grown-woman conversations about self-connection, identity, work, creativity, money, boundaries, and building something that actually feels like you. Through personal stories and the Be The Bag framework—Pause, Reflection, Discernment, Experimentation, Evidence, and Revision—we’re learning to stop outsourcing our clarity and start trusting ourselves again. There’s no performative hustle here, no pressure to have the perfect plan, and absolutely no requirement to pretend you care about things you do not care about. Just thoughtful conversations, practical questions, and plenty of permission to change your mind as you learn more about yourself. Come in, have a seat, sip something good, and let’s talk about what it means to stop chasing the bag—and remember that you are the source, the asset, and the blueprint. Welcome home.

Episode 00: Pencils Down: Before You Make Another Move, Consult Yourself

What am I doing? Why am I doing it? Is it working—or is it just working my nerves? In the first official episode of Be The Bag Live, April walks into the room and calls pencils down. Not because we’re giving up, but because many of us have been chasing jobs, business opportunities, money, systems, and someone else’s version of success without first asking what we actually want. April shares her experience as a successful professional woman who could do hard things—but repeatedly found herself quitting business programs, resisting “proven” strategies, and wondering why she couldn’t make herself follow through. The problem wasn’t laziness or a fear of hard work. She was trying to build businesses and a life around things that looked promising from the outside but didn’t fit who she was. This episode explores: • Why money alone may not be enough to keep you motivated • The difference between avoiding hard work and being deeply uninterested • How responsibility and survival can disconnect you from your own desires • Why comparison makes your natural way of creating feel wrong • What it means to become the source, the asset, and the blueprint in your own life • The Be The Bag framework of reflection, discernment, experimentation, evidence, and revision Be The Bag is an invitation to stop organizing your life around everything outside of you long enough to hear what is true for you—and then test that truth in real life. So before you buy another program, follow another blueprint, or force yourself to make someone else’s strategy fit, put your pencil down and ask: What do I want? Why am I doing this? And does it fit the woman I actually am? Don’t chase the bag. Be the bag.
