    A Bittersweet Goodbye (For Now)

    A Bittersweet Goodbye (For Now)

THE END OF AN ERA. This is a tough and short episode for us, but we pride ourselves on being open and honest with you guys. So, we knew this episode had to be done.
Today, Nina is stepping away from Be You Not Them and she explains why. No, we didn't get into a fight guys! We're still BESTIES4LIFE. But unfortunately, sometimes things serve a purpose in our life for a short time and we have to make the decision to walk away.
So, this isn't the end of Be You Not Them... this is just a short goodbye for now. Natassia will be back and continuing this self love journey, but in a different format. You gotta give us some time to think about our next chapter!!! :) And while Nina will not be with us, she'll be cheering us on in the sidelines and supporting the mission.

See you soon. Love you guys!

Mini Pick Me Up - How Being Judged Hurts

Mini Pick Me Up - How Being Judged Hurts

Welcome to your mini pick me up! In light of our last episode, we're going to talk about the negative effects of judging others and gossiping. We've all been there - we've judged others and made assumptions about them based off of how they look, how they reacted to something, their mood, etc.

But, we have ALSO been judged by others as well. So it's time for some self reflection that can help us become a little bit more aware about passing judgement on others.

So we're going to be asking ourselves today:

When did someone judge you the wrong way? How did that make you feel?

We’d love to hear how this episode resonated with you! As always, you can hit us up on the typical channels below! Make sure to subscribe and leave a review as well. We would really appreciate it!

    Stop Being So Judgy!

    Stop Being So Judgy!

WHY DO WE ALWAYS JUDGE EVERYONE?! Have you ever judged someone? Have you ever made assumptions about someone’s character based on their appearance? We’re going to be honest… WE HAVE. Back when we were a lot more judgemental and much less confident in ourselves. But don’t be too hard on yourself, because it’s human nature to sometimes put people in boxes. However, today we’re going to talk about why we need to be a little bit more self aware before we starting judging everyone else.

[2:18] Why Do We Judge Others? Let’s be real… talking badly or judging others can make us feel better about ourselves when we’re insecure or unhappy. We share our own experiences from when we used to be Judgemental Queens.

[6:17] Let’s Talk About Some Psychology Behind This. There’s a term in psychology called “attributions” and how we make judgments of others based off of situational or personality attributions.

[11:42] How We Judge Others Is A Reflection of Ourselves. Our lack of self love can be seen in the way that we judge others. That hurts, right?

[13:29] How Do We Stop Being So Judgy? We’re going to share some tips that have helped us become a little more self aware.
Stop & Observe - ask yourself where this is coming from. [14:05] Build A Space to Understand [15:35] Practice Empathy & Acceptance - Nina shares her own experience of her faith journey & how she’s seen others judge others based off of ‘rules’ [17:00] This Is Why You Shouldn’t Gossip. Words hurt, guys. [22:10]
We hope this episode resonated with you...and helps you become a liiiiiiiittle less judgy with others. We never know what someone else is going through and making these preliminary judgements not only hurts others, but ourselves as well. We’d love to know your thoughts! You know where to reach uuuusss.

Inspiring content

Such a raw and authentic show! Love their discussion and everything they’re doing to inspire humanity. Thanks ladies. 🙏🏻💕

So disappointed

I searched specifically for ‘escaping victim mentality’, as, unbeknownst to me, I have exhibited some of these traits throughout my life. I’ve gotten by, done well actually. I am now ready for deeper meaning and a deeper knowledge of myself. Giving that is was 2 women who were trying to ‘enlighten’, I thought I would give it a try. Could not get past the opening segment; you know, being a victim is really a pet peeve they have, so like, get over it. Here’s a thought…how about some compassion?

They’re like my friends!

I love Nina and Natassia on this podcast. They each have their own unique stories and struggles and are vulnerable with the listeners when it comes to sharing about their lives. If I am feeling like I want some girl chat during this isolated quarantine, I always turn on BYNT and literally laugh out loud with these girls. I always relate to something they say and learn something new!
