Episode 41: Conversations with Coaches: Ryan Graham & Cristy Swint - "Cultivating Connection Growth"

In today's episode, Marnie Clark talks with Ryan Graham and Cristy Swint of RamLea Partners about a different yet effective type of corporate coaching. After a decade of prayer, God brought these two ladies together for a mission to cultivate "connection growth" in the corporate world.

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house." Matthew 5:15-15

Episode 40: "Single-Minded Purpose in a Multi-Tasking World" with Anna Nash

Episode 40: "Single-Minded Purpose in a Multi-Tasking World" with Anna Nash

At our last Coffee & Connection event at Workshop Local, Anna Nash shared some vulnerable and comical personal stories of her own tendency towards multi-tasking, helping us get to the heart of why so many of us struggle in this area.

Anna also gave us some practical tips to help us move to a more peaceful, slower pace as we seek to live a more purposeful life.

    Learn with us:

"So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you." Romans 12:1,2 (Message)

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to Me. Get away with Me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with Me and work with Me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with Me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28 (Message)

Episode 39: Conversations with Coaches with Lauren McKenzie - Emotional Regulation in Parenting (& Other Relationships)

Episode 39: Conversations with Coaches with Lauren McKenzie - Emotional Regulation in Parenting (& Other Relationships)

At Beacon People we talk a lot about purpose and the privilege of growing God's Kingdom, and one way we get to do that is through parenting. Lauren McKenzie, M.A., C.P.C. is an adult-child relationship strategist. Adults get emotionally worn out when kids are difficult to deal with, and this wreaks havoc in every area of their lives. Using a proven framework, she shows grown ups how to take control of their emotions and positively engage with kids so they can gain cooperation, escape overwhelm, and show up as the best version of themselves. With an extensive background in education, the specialization of a certified professional life coach, and a heart to point families toward the truth of the Gospel, Lauren guides families on their journey from chaos to calm.

"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And He gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation." 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (NLT)

Episode 38: "Determining Your Why & Why It's Important" with Anna Nash

Episode 38: "Determining Your Why & Why It's Important" with Anna Nash

Anna Nash helped us take a fresh look at determining our why and why it is important our last Coffee and Connections event at the Workshop in Birmingham. Join us on this episode for some inspiration and practical help for your journey of purpose in God's Kingdom.

Learn along with us on this episode:

    2 Corinthians 9:8

    Proverbs 16:11

    Isaiah 55:8-11

    John 10:10

    Roman 15:13

    Isaiah 43:1

Questions to ask yourself to help determine your "WHY":

    1. What activities or pursuits make you lose track of time because you enjoy them so much?

    2. When reflecting on your life, what achievements or moments bring you the greatest sense of fulfillment?

    3. If money were not a factor, what would you spend your time doing every day?

    4. What values or principles do you hold dear, and how do they influence your decisions?

    5. When faced with challenges, what motivates you to overcome them?

    6. If you could make a positive impact on the world, what cause or issue would you choose to support?

    7. Consider a time when you felt truly alive and purposeful. What were you doing in that moment?

    8. What dreams or aspirations did you have as a child, and do they still resonate with you today?

    9. Reflect on people you admire. What qualities or actions in them resonate with you on a deep level?

    10. If you were to envision your ideal life 10 years from now, what would it look like, and what would you be doing?

We want you to join us at our next Coffee and Connections event on Wednesday, March 20th from 10 am to noon at Workshop! Visit our website or follow @beaconpeople on Instagram or Facebook for more information.
