    Recognizing Jesus | Road to Emmaus & New Life in Christ | Third Sunday of Easter Sermon

    On the Third Sunday of Easter, we hear how the risen Christ comes near even when He is not immediately recognized. In Luke 24:13–35, Jesus walks alongside the disciples on the road to Emmaus, opening the Scriptures and revealing Himself in the breaking of the bread. What began in confusion and sorrow becomes clarity and joy as their eyes are opened to see Him. In Acts 2:14a, 36–41, that same risen Lord works through the Word proclaimed, calling people to repentance, faith, and new life. The promise is clear: forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit are for all whom the Lord calls. “Recognizing Jesus” is not about finding Him on our own, but receiving how He makes Himself known through His Word and Sacraments. Here, Christ still meets His people, strengthening faith, restoring hope, and giving life.     Living Hope in the Risen Christ | Beautiful Savior Sermon Audio

    In this Easter sermon from Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church (SeaTac, WA), we continue our series “Alive in the Risen Christ” with the message: “From Doubt to Living Hope.” Drawing from 1 Peter 1:3–9, we hear the powerful promise that through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have been given a living hope one that is not shaken by trials, uncertainty, or suffering, but is anchored in the victory of Christ over death. In John 20:19–31, the risen Jesus appears to His disciples in the midst of fear and doubt. He does not reject them, but instead brings peace, shows His wounds, and creates faith where there was uncertainty. Even Thomas, who struggled to believe, is met with grace. This message reminds us that faith is not the absence of doubt, but the presence of Christ. The risen Lord meets us where we are and draws us into a hope that is alive, enduring, and secure in Him.     “The King Who Comes in Humility” – Sermon Audio Palm Sunday

    Join Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in SeaTac, WA, as we celebrate Palm Sunday and begin the journey into Holy Week. In this sermon, “The King Who Comes in Humility,” we behold a King unlike any other. In John 12:12–19, Jesus enters Jerusalem to shouts of “Hosanna!” as crowds welcome Him with expectation and longing for power and change. Yet God’s plan unfolds in a different way. In Philippians 2:5–11, we see Christ’s humility a King who does not grasp for power, but empties Himself in love. And in Isaiah 50: 4–9a, we hear of the faithful servant who endures suffering with trust in the Lord. Jesus does not turn away from the cross. He walks toward it willingly. Palm Sunday reveals the heart of God: not distant or forceful, but near, humble, and full of mercy. The King we praise is the One who gives Himself for the life of the world. Standing before the grave of His friend, Jesus weeps entering fully into the sorrow of death. Yet He also speaks with authority that reaches beyond it: “I am the resurrection and the life.” In this moment, we see both the depth of human grief and the greater promise of Christ’s power over the grave. In Romans 8:1–11, we hear that the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now gives life to those who belong to Him. Because of Christ, death does not have the final word. Even in loss, even in uncertainty, hope remains. In this encounter, a man receives more than restored eyesight he comes to faith in the One who healed him. At the same time, those confident in their knowledge and position struggle to see what is right in front of them. The story reveals a deeper truth: the greatest blindness is not physical, but spiritual. In Ephesians 5:8–14, we hear the call to walk as children of light. Lent exposes the ways pride and self-reliance can cloud our vision, while the cross reveals both our need and God’s mercy. True sight is not earned through intellect, status, or effort. This week’s message, “Living Water for Those Who Thirst,” brings us to the well in John 4:  5–26, where Jesus meets a woman carrying shame, broken relationships, and deep spiritual thirst. While others avoided her, Jesus does not. Instead, He speaks with grace and promises living water life that truly satisfies and restores. In Romans 5:  1–8, we hear the foundation of that promise while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The cross stands behind the gift Jesus offers, mercy that flows from His sacrifice and forgiveness. Lent invites honesty. It is not about pretending we are strong, but about coming with our thirst our need, our searching, and our brokenness and hearing again that Christ meets us with mercy. He does not turn away.
