  1. How I Lost 20 Pounds Naturally in My 40s (No Diets, No Medication)

    JAN 23

How I Lost 20 Pounds Naturally in My 40s (No Diets, No Medication)

Losing weight in your 40s is not the same as losing weight in your 20s, and if you’ve been feeling frustrated, discouraged, or stuck, you’re not imagining it. In this episode, I’m sharing my personal journey of losing around 20 pounds naturally, without dieting, medication, or extremes — and the mindset and lifestyle shifts that actually made it sustainable. We talk honestly about why motivation doesn’t last, what my trainer taught me about protein and nourishment, and how to work out without stressing your body, joints, or nervous system. I break down my realistic approach to clean eating and organic whole foods, reflect on what Susan Powter taught so many of us about food and empowerment, and explain why low-impact workouts can be incredibly effective in midlife. We also dive into the realities of perimenopause, including insulin resistance, visceral fat, blood sugar crashes, and why the “rules” from our 20s no longer apply. I also open up about my personal experience with fibroids, weight gain, and the stubborn stomach bulge that so many women quietly struggle with — along with how fast food, stress, mental health, and the way we talk to ourselves can impact our progress more than we realize. Inside this episode, I share: How to adjust your routine when you feel overwhelmed (without quitting)A simple food hack to stay on track on busy or hard daysMy secret sugar substitute tip and how to avoid crashesWhy blood work matters, including iron deficienciesMy favorite grass-fed protein supplementsThe role fiber plays in weight lossHow I use the 80/20 rule without all-or-nothing thinkingAn “excesses” hack for eating out, parties, and special occasionsThis episode isn’t about perfection or punishment. It’s about learning how to support your body in this season of life — calmly, compassionately, and in a way that actually works long-term. Remember… the more you know, the more you glow. #WeightLossOver40 #MidlifeWellness #HormoneHealth #PerimenopauseSupport #NaturalWeightLoss #WomenOver40 #SustainableWellness #HealthyAging Thanks for listening to Beauty Backroads. 2. Skin Over 40 Reset: What’s Changing in 2026

Skin Over 40 Reset: What’s Changing in 2026

As we step into 2026, I wanted to take a moment to slow down, reflect, and share what’s next — not just for this podcast, but for the way we approach beauty together. In this New Year episode, I’m opening up about how the podcast is evolving, why I’m making a few intentional changes, and some big news I’ve been so excited (and a little nervous) to share. This next chapter feels more aligned, more grounded, and more honest, and I think you’ll feel that shift right away. We’re also getting back to the basics when it comes to skincare. Not trends. Not hype. Just what actually matters if you want healthy, resilient skin, especially as we move through our 40s and beyond. I’ll be sharing the skincare principles I’ll be focusing on going forward, why simplifying your routine can be so powerful, and how consistency, barrier support, and intention make all the difference in achieving real beauty goals. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the beauty industry, disconnected from your routine, or ready for a reset that feels supportive instead of stressful, this episode is for you. Here’s to a new year, a clearer path, and choosing what truly serves us — skin, heart, and soul. Remember, the more you know, the more you glow. 💛 #beautyover40 #SkinOver40 #SkincareSimplified #HealthySkinJourney #MidlifeBeauty Thanks for listening to Beauty Backroads. 3. The Supplement Scare You Need to Hear: What Every Woman 40+ Should Know

The Supplement Scare You Need to Hear: What Every Woman 40+ Should Know

Today’s episode is a real and deeply important conversation that every woman over 40 needs to hear. Recently, a close friend of mine went from “typical menopausal symptoms” to two days in the ER with dangerously high liver levels — and what uncovered the truth wasn’t a scan, an MRI, or even blood work. It was a simple question most doctors never ask: “What supplements are you taking?” This episode walks you through her story — the misdiagnoses, the spike in liver enzymes, and the surprising supplement link — and why this moment sent up red flags for me, too. As someone who’s used supplements for anxiety support, is trained in holistic skin health, and works with women in sensitive health seasons, this hit home. You’ll learn: The hidden risks of long-term supplement use (even “natural” ones)Why menopausal symptoms often get misinterpretedHow dosing — under or over — can impact everythingWhy third-party testing isn’t always enoughThe difference between microdosing vs macrodosing (in beauty and health)How to support your nervous system without relying solely on pillsGentle, actionable ways to relax that won’t stress your liver This is not a fear-based episode. It’s a cautionary, empowering conversation to help you protect your body, ask better questions, and make safer, more informed decisions — especially when life feels overwhelming and you just want relief. And if your nervous system is craving support, I’m gifting you my free Glow Back™ Recovery Guide, filled with gentle wind-down rituals and real-life practices to help you restore calm without supplements. This is NOT medical advice — just guidance to help you make informed decisions and feel more confident in your own skin. ✨ Download it here: https://mailchi.mp/jentriquinn.com/skinguide Remember… the goal is not perfection. 4. When Stress Shows Up On Your Skin (And How to Calm the Chaos)

    12/09/2025

When Stress Shows Up On Your Skin (And How to Calm the Chaos)

If your skin has been irritated, breaking out, or just acting like it’s going through something… this episode is for you. Today I’m opening up about two chapters from my life that completely reshaped how I understand stressed skin — the first time in my early 20s as a young makeup artist when deep, painful breakouts appeared out of nowhere, and later in my 40s during a stressful, transitional season when my skin rebelled all over again. These experiences taught me one powerful truth: Your skin listens to your life louder than it listens to your products. And once you learn how to respond with compassion and the right tools, everything changes. In this episode, we break down how stress sneaks into your skin, and more importantly, how to help your skin calm down, recover, and glow again. You’ll learn: ✨ Why stressed skin becomes reactive, inflamed, or breakout-prone ✨ The “Less Is More” reset that soothes angry skin fast ✨ Why blue LED light is a gentle, research-backed acne tool ✨ How salicylic acid works (and how NOT to overdo it) ✨ The real reason pimple patches work — and what they don’t do ✨ Prescription options for hormonally driven or persistent breakouts ✨ Why microdosing Accutane can be easier to tolerate ✨ The surprising ways stress outperforms genetics and diet ✨ My free Glow Back™ Recovery Guide — your simple roadmap to calmer skin This episode is educational only and not medical advice — but it will help you better understand how to support your skin in the seasons when it needs more love.
