What Is Home? Discovering Where You Truly Belong Beyond Four Walls | E2 S3

What does "HOME" mean to you? Yesterday, I had the honor of gifting an incredible team member of a non-profit organization, called Elrethia's House of Purpose, with a belated Christmas present. Though I’d meant to give it to them weeks ago, divine timing made yesterday the perfect moment. While dropping off donations, I caught up with Ms. Ruth, Elrethia's House of Purpose's inspiring founder, and had the chance to volunteer alongside her amazing team. As we worked, we shared our New Year’s resolutions—one being to care for ourselves more, another to deepen our faith, and a third to face our greatest fears and embrace a fulfilling life. When I asked the team member what they were most proud of heading into 2025, they spoke of their resilience and their journey at Elrethia's House of Purpose, transforming from someone finding their way to a leader creating meaningful impact. They said, “I finally feel at home.” Smiling, I handed them the gift, urging them to open it. Curious and excited, they revealed a wooden sign that read: "THIS IS HOME." It symbolized so much more than a dwelling—it was about finding safety, love, and self-assurance. In that moment, I realized the gift wasn’t just for them. As a former military kid who never felt truly at home, I finally felt what it was—safe, connected, and right where I belonged. This is home—for the both of us. Home is more than a place; it’s a feeling, a community, and an experience of joy and peace. Yesterday reminded me of the beauty of creating that sense of home for others and myself. THIS IS HOME Have you ever experienced a moment like this with a loved one, good friend, or coworker? How did it make you feel? Have you ever desired to experience something like this? If so, how do you see it manifesting and unfolding for you and with who? Our Constant Pressure To Keep Up | Why We Desire To Be The "Cool Kid" (Episode 7)

Hey BWC Fam! Have you stopped and asked yourself lately WHY you TRULY WANT what YOU WANT?  In this day in age we are constantly bombarded by media that depicts people persistently exceeding societal expectations. If social media never existed, would you STILL DESIRE what it is YOU DESIRE?  After noticing how devastated I felt every time I put myself down for not being where I wanted to be -- if I'm being honest, for not being where someone else was -- I had to ask myself these same questions. In doing so what I discovered was a new integration of what we once referred to as, "Keeping Up With The Joneses." This same phenomenon has now gained a new face and is what we call today as "Cool Kid Syndrome." - What does it mean to have "Cool Kid Syndrome?" - Could this be a prime reason for our feelings of discontentment, unfulfillment, and dissatisfaction with ourselves, our lives, and our dreams? - What effects can Cool Kid Syndrome have on our wellbeing and future potential? - How can we connect on a deeper level with ourselves and build a greater belief in our unique gifts and abilities? I was dying to know how I could overcome the incessant pressures of having to be EVERYTHING TO EVERYONE ALL THE TIME.  What about you? Have you been curious to know too?  I would love to hear more about your experiences with "Keeping Up With The Joneses" and breaking free from "Cool Kid Syndrome." Leave a heart down below if this resonated with you. 💙 Thank you for listening and sharing! The Importance of Taking Time For Ourselves (Episode 6)

Hey BWC Fam! I wanted to give a friendly reminder to us ALL to SLOW DOWN from our BUSY & HECTIC LIVES. Sometimes it feels like time is ticking by so fast and can get the best of us! It can be intimidating, alarming, and scary. We are already 6 months into 2024! Can you believe it? Examining how this year has gone so far: - How has each day felt like for you? - Have you had a chance to pause and breathe? - Or, have you ran yourself dry? And if so, how does this make you feel? - How can we create more time for ourselves to ensure we take better care of our personal wellbeing and health? - How can we begin honoring ourselves and believing that we are more than worthy of a fulfilling existence far greater than we could ever imagine? Because at the end of the day, the more we pour into ourselves, the more we are able to pour back into the world around us and into others. But, this possibility can only happen once we embrace our inner most desires to pursue our unique callings and our divine-given gifts. It ALL starts with US! Thank you for listening and sharing! How To Build More Self-Acceptance During Moments of Self-Doubt

Welcome back Conscious Seekers!  Today, we are getting real and talking about how, sometimes, we may feel like we're not giving or doing enough.  - Not pouring into ourselves enough,  - Not giving to those in need enough,  - Not giving enough of ourselves to causes we wish to see  How many of us can resonate with this? I know I can.  In this episode of BWC, I share an experience that was presented to me where I could have been of great support for a woman and her family in need.  But what happened?... I didn't rise up to the challenge. I froze, I buckled under pressure, and turned a blind eye because what?... I was too uncomfortable... I was too afraid to help at that very moment... So, what did I do? Like many of us do, I started beating myself up and interrogating myself with all the "What if I just had..." Insert the statement that best describes your situation at a time in your life when you felt like you could have done more or could have been more. - Why do we feel like we can never measure up to what we think we should be doing?  - What if it wasn't the right time and place to act?  - Why do we define our character and worth based on our inability to act in accordance with what we believe is right or moral? - What if we really are doing our best and that is all we can do at that moment? -Does that make us a bad or uncaring person?  Let's unpack this together! Join me in continuing this important conversation about how we can begin to, rather, accept ourselves for who we are in these present moments as we move through the process of continuously growing and learning -- fumbling and falling -- failing and trying again -- using our previous experiences to propel ourselves forward to greater opportunities.  What are your thoughts?
