Connecting people to God and Healing

The guest on this week’s episode is incredibly special to my heart and my journey and is hands down one of the top five most important and influential people in my life—his name is Tim Storey. Tim came into my world about two years ago, when I was struggling to come out of a season of silence, looking for a mentor and coach who understood where I came from and what I had been through.

In this episode we discuss the pivotal moments in Tim’s childhood that not only changed his life forever, but enabled him to understand the process of pain, grief, and how to help others in deeper places of hurt. Listen to this episode to see how one man’s story of pain and strength enabled him to guide so many people, including high profile celebrities, to God and healing.

Finding strength to overcome life’s interruptions

We open this episode with snapshots of Tim’s childhood, one that he describes as a carefree, happy-go-lucky upbringing—until a tragic life interruption brought everything crashing down. Tim shares the impact this had on his understanding of the world, his connection to God, and how it almost prepared him for the second awful event that would again send his family reeling.

Being called to a greater purpose

He describes going through the process of pain and grief, but knowing there were people out there that were more wounded, in more pain, and needed more help—and how he knew he would be the one to do so.

    Transforming people’s lives

We dig into the layers of carnal vs. core recovery, and how to move past our own past in order to live in the present without punishing ourselves for our successes. Tim shares his journey from speaking in front of people to coaching big name entertainers, eventually even winding up on Oprah’s couch. He preaches wisdom, words of recovery, and helps people overcome their addictions to transform their setbacks into comebacks.

    Tim Storey

10: The Enneagram microscope - How having the objective view in focus can give you the freedom you desire

10: The Enneagram microscope - How having the objective view in focus can give you the freedom you desire

    The Enneagram Microscope

Welcome to the weekly bite sized snapshot of the most important tool in self-discovery and self-recovery—The Enneagram. In this episode I discuss just how complex and useful the Enneagram is and how it’s much more than Instagram memes and posts give it credit for. I walk through the different ways the Enneagram can be used and misused, and discuss how, when implemented correctly, it can be utilized as a microscope for internal growth.

If you are ready for transformation, to put in the work, and truly want to learn how the Enneagram can bring you to your authentic self, listen to these each week to start the journey back to you.

    Authentic self vs. Adapted Self

Each of us has an authentic self, gifts, and strengths, as well as an adapted self that we develop based on our environment and circumstances. As we grow and are faced with trauma, we adapt in order to protect ourselves, building walls that inevitably can keep us disconnected from joy and love.

I talk about how the Enneagram can be used to break through the prison you have built, and how it is a roadmap to self-compassion—how you can’t have compassion and love for another person before first having it for yourself.

    A Roadmap to Liberation

I share my own experience and how the Enneagram changed my life, and how to take the journey a little at a time in order to make a sustainable transformation. The more open you are to the process without rushing it, the more the changes will stick.

The Enneagram can help you find the way back to your unique soul path, and although there may be turbulence, my goal is to help you use this tool to transform your life and to make the moves that matter most: When you can see, hear, and understand another human being that is where real connection grows, and when you can do that for yourself, that is where you find freedom.

    Quick Access To Quotes:

09: Cut Me Wide Open.... Confronting Vulnerability, Vanity, Near Death and Breast Implant Illness w/ Talia Maddock

09: Cut Me Wide Open.... Confronting Vulnerability, Vanity, Near Death and Breast Implant Illness w/ Talia Maddock

Implant Illness and the importance of being your own advocate

This week’s guest is someone incredibly important, her spirit and soul will warm your heart and her story will open your eyes to something you may never have heard of—her name is Talia Maddock.

In this week’s episode, we get real about a subject many people have judged or tried to quiet us about—our boobs. We go deep into the topic of implant illness, health issues both of us faced, the incredulous doctors who for years could not tell what was wrong, the nagging intuition that told us we were right, and in the end, the near-death trauma and health implications that made us realize the truth.

    Coping with perfectionism

We open this episode talking about both Talia and my health crises—how we were both at rock bottom, our health deteriorating with no explanation, planning our own funerals praying we could figure out what was happening to our bodies. We talk about the coping method of perfectionism and how this was rooted in Talia’s home life at a young age, dealing with alcoholism and addiction with the ones she loved.

This perfectionism fueled her to overanalyze her appearance, eventually leading her to get implants. Within three months of getting implants, Talia knew something was wrong.

    Being her own advocate

She talks about her warped new reality, hooked up to machines, struggling to breathe, begging doctors to find out what was wrong. For ten years people thought she was crazy, her family worried, and she ignored her gut feeling—until a friend mentioned implant illness, forever changing her life.

When you are faced with your own mortality, your insecurities and vanity go out the window. We talk about the impact of our explants, aftershock, and the emotional trauma and healing it took to recover.

    Use your voice

It’s crucial to use your voice, to share what you went through, to reach others who are experiencing the same pain, so they know they are not alone. Use your voice. It could save a life.

    Talia Maddock

Today, Talia is a mother, wife, multi-million-dollar business owner, interior designer, and host of the Let’s Talk LIVE broadcast. She uses the show as a platform for women to come together, to share their stories, to talk about experiences with no judgment or criticism. Talia is an advocate for women’s health and has made it her mission to have people share their stories to help others find answers and help them heal.

08: Your Enneagram Type and Eating Patterns/Dysfunctions

08: Your Enneagram Type and Eating Patterns/Dysfunctions

Disordered eating, and how the Enneagram can help

In this week’s Enneatalk Tuesday I dig into a very important subject, one that many of you have asked me to discuss—eating habits. I break down each Enneagram type by their fears, desires, and motivations and how these apply to food. I talk about how eating habits can look if you’re healthy and how they may look if you are using food for comfort or control.

I share my own story about how this tool has helped me during my health journey and how you can use it to not only become more aware of your habits, but to discover motives behind disordered eating.

If you have over-consumed yourself with thoughts about food, know first that you are not alone, that you are safe, and that you are beautiful. Listen to this episode to learn the power of the pause, and how it can help you learn compassion, honor, and love for yourself.

    Coping with your environment

We are all born with unique gifts and dispositions but your environment and trauma can determine how they get expressed. Many of us, including myself, turn to food for comfort, support, control, or use as a coping method to deal with stress and trauma in our lives.

If you are struggling or overthinking food, it’s important to stop and understand what is driving this—to know that you are not self-sabotaging but instead trying to protect yourself.

    Perspective, motive, and growth

If you are ready to make a change, attempting to address an issue by changing only the habit results in a short-term fix. The key to understanding disordered eating is to find the root of why it is happening, to learn the motive behind it, to understand and have perspective in check—when this occurs you can have long-term success and growth. I discuss how the Enneagram can help do this, when used correctly.

    You deserve peace and joy

Although you may have had these habits for years, it is not too late to take back control, to understand where it comes from. Don’t let food steal more joy from your life, or let it rob you of more experiences. Know that you can reach out, ask for help, and that you are in a secure place. Most of all, know that you are safe, supported, and that you are loved.

Are you struggling with your relationship with food?

07: The Method to Dramatically Increase Your Self-Confidence with Alison Lumbatis (Enneagram 5)

07: The Method to Dramatically Increase Your Self-Confidence with Alison Lumbatis (Enneagram 5)

    How self-care can foster self-confidence

In this week’s episode, we travel down the road of Alison Lumbatis’ past; how her unhealthy upbringing hindered her personality and growth, causing her to seek something from people they weren’t able to provide—her identity. We uncover the unexpected event that lead to the most terrifying year of her life, and how she transitioned from being an engineer to succumb to her true calling—helping and serving women to be the most confident, successful versions of themselves.

Listen to this episode to see how she helps women articulate their sense of style, gain confidence, save money, and ultimately show up for themselves every single day.

    Listen to this episode now

    “Others focused, not self-focused”

Alison’s childhood was very similar to my own, her father was an alcoholic and family life was unhealthy, unstable, and uncertain. While most kids were growing into themselves, she was growing into whomever everyone wanted her to be. At 15 years old, she remembers having a gut feeling that she was meant to be doing something more, something to help women—but the timing wasn’t right.

    Finding hope in the mess

Alison takes us through the turning point in her life—the deepest pain and catalyst for seeking help to save her marriage and relationships that mattered most. We discuss how therapy and the Enneagram shifted her family life and helped them better understand each other.

She talks about how working and blogging from home in her leggings—sans workout and yoga—spiraled her into a dark unmotivated rut, and how deciding to show up for herself by getting dressed every morning changed everything. Her commitment to work on herself opened up doors for opportunity, and she reveals how an unexpected loss led to the birth of multi-million-dollar businesses.

    Customer-centered and feedback focused

Today, Alison is a mom of three, recovering yoga pants-addict, and the creator of the style blog Get Your Pretty On. She leads a passion project that helps orphaned young women in Haiti build successful businesses, providing knowledge and resources to lead sustainable futures.

She is also the creator of Style Challenges, a first of its kind online personal styling program that’s like meal planning for your closet. Since its start, she’s helped over 35,000 women build capsule wardrobes and discover confidence through easy style.

How you can use the Enneagram to leverage and build wealth

Are you trying to build a wall of wealth and security around your family and struggling to move the needle effectively?

In this week’s episode, I dive deep into how the Enneagram can be used as the sharpest tool in your box to build profit, passion, and wealth. I discuss how using the Enneagram allowed me to understand people, their language, fears, motivations, and purpose, and how this enabled me to empower and connect with them.

Listen to this week’s episode to see how the Enneagram can play to your own strengths, leverage other people’s, build your business, impact your company, and drive profit to leave behind the legacy you have always dreamed of.

How the Enneagram changed my life

The Enneagram came into my life when I was at my lowest, right after an unexpected loss made me realize how precious and unreliable our most important resource is--time. I had just severed ties with my entire network, friends, community, and was fresh out of rehab trying to overhaul my life and business—I knew that something needed to change.

I walk through how discovering the Enneagram’s superpowers enabled me to speak the same language as my family and my new network, and how this completely transformed relationships and my business—turning it into a multimillion organization within 26 months.

How the Enneagram can work for you

I outline how the Enneagram allows you to work smarter, not harder, and I talk about how, when used correctly and with integrity, it can bring out the best in everyone. The key to being a good leader is not only knowing yourself, but being able to bring out strengths in those around you—to see, understand and hear them. When improving profit margin, knowing how to incentivize and motivate people will drive productivity and grow profit.

In a world where everything around us is a transaction—whether emotional or physical—it’s crucial to effectively and efficiently communicate, cut down time cost, and increase how quickly you move the needle. Stop wasting time, start making money, and learn how applying the Enneagram can increase profit and fulfillment in your life, business, and relationships, so you can Become Bulletproof.
