Beggar's Bread

I love the variety of topics that this podcast covers. Growing up in a small-minded church left me with a lot of questions as an adult and the hosts do a great job exploring why the evangelical church teaches what it does and giving alternative perspectives. My favorite part is that they never put down any one person’s perspective or belief and leave a lot of room at the table for all kinds of people from many different backgrounds and truly open up a discussion to be had. This podcast has been very healing for me and helpful in my rebuilding of my relationship with God and with other Christians!

Not very in-depth. Suggest that the resources they use are correct. Never have acknowledged that sources they don’t agree with might be valid. Use the worn out cliche of “fake news”. If people live in an echo chamber this works. However, truth seekers look, study and discuss with people who think the opposite of them. It’s way better to share coffee with someone who completely disagrees with you than someone who agrees with you. I would be passed off by them as a conservative, trump supporter, republican Christian which I am the opposite of. I know this because I listen to every episode and listen to generalizations made to this group. It’s weird that I can’t stand this group but am one of them. Also me reading and listening to every side opens me up to the age of disinformation we live in. Has it ever dawned on them that the sources and beliefs they have are formed for the age of disinformation we live in???? I do like that we are both Christians but I don’t like the ivory tower approach that they make. If you disagree with them you fell for fake news.

I appreciate the variety of healthy conversations and topics! The hosts articulate and discuss things that challenges me to seek truth in a discerning way! I whole heartedly recommend!
