Holly-Bipolar Disorder and Ehlers- Danlos Syndromes (EDS)
Welcome back to Episode 4 of Behind the BDS. Today I'm joined with Holly, a 3rd year medical student at the University of Birmingham, who is maybe better known as @miscellaneousmedic on her fab instagram page. There Holly covers so many relevant topics including mental health, body image and mindfulness/other wellbeing techniques. She is very open about her diagnoses of bipolar disorder, hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndromes (hEDS) and ADHD, so we explore a bit of all of these in todays ep, but also Hollys experiences with symptoms, seeking support and managing social media. We also highlight how Mental Health awareness doesnt just include Anxiety disorders and Depression, but also those less understood conditions including BPD, Schizophrenia, Body Dysmorphic Disorder and so on.

Gracie- Depression, Self Harm and Dermatillomania
Welcome back to Episode 3 of Behind the BDS. Today I'm so grateful to be joined by Gracie, who is 18 on the day this is released, so Happy Birthday lovely! She is so open on her instagram @recoveringracie about her Mental Health struggles and her journey with CAMHS, as well as providing amazing advice on improving your own outlook and wellbeing. On todays ep, we chat about Gracie's experiences with clinical depression, self harm, social anxiety and dermatillomania. I also have experience with dermatillomania, which is a condition that is unheard of to many. We also touched on her experience with CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and the process of transition to Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS).

Chloe-BPD
Welcome back to Episode 2 of Behind the BDS. Today I'm joined with 4th year dental student Chloe Lennox who goes to Newcastle dental school. Chloe has her own instagram account @chloe_lennox_1998 and a separate account @dentistsandtheirfillings where she is open about her experiences with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) and taking a leave of absence from university to focus on her mental health. She also explores and raises awareness of other mental health diagnoses on her instagram page which is so inspiring. Today we discuss BPD, some of the common symptoms, Chloes experiences, suicidal thoughts and also mental health support within dental schools.

Tash- Anorexia Nervosa, GAD and Depression
Episode 1 of Behind the BDS. Today I'm joined with Tash, a 4th year Medical Student at Kings College London. She is a very passionate mental health advocate with her Instagram @tash_themedic and Youtube 'Tash the Medic' being focused on Mental Health, as well as her journey as a medical student. Tash has been very open about her experiences with various mental health conditions including Anorexia Nervosa, Depression and Anxiety. Today we have had a chat about our experiences of depression, what it is like to live with, and covered topics including reliance, losing sense of self and how COVID-19 has impacted our mental health.
