Ephesians - Part 3 - Walking Worthy of the Calling

In this sermon, Pastor Matthew Campbell explores Ephesians chapter 4, where Paul shifts from theological foundations to practical Christian living. The message centers on Paul’s call for believers to “walk worthy of the calling” they have received—a life shaped by humility, unity, spiritual maturity, and transformed character. Key Themes Living Out Our Calling Pastor Campbell highlights that Paul’s instruction is not about earning God’s favor but responding to grace. Because believers are called, they are invited to live in a way that reflects that identity. Unity in the Body of Christ Drawing from verses 1–6, the sermon emphasizes humility, gentleness, patience, and love as essential attitudes for maintaining unity. Pastor Campbell explains how unity is rooted in the “one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God.” Gifts for Building Up the Church From verses 7–16, he unpacks how Christ gives spiritual gifts to equip believers for ministry. These gifts are not for personal status but for strengthening the church and helping it grow into maturity. Putting Off the Old Self Pastor Campbell stresses Paul’s call to leave behind the old patterns of life and “put on the new self,” created to be like God in righteousness and holiness. This transformation is both a daily choice and a work of the Spirit. Overall Message The sermon encourages listeners to see their Christian walk as a response to God’s grace—living with purpose, unity, and integrity. Walking worthy of the calling means allowing the gospel to shape attitudes, relationships, and everyday actions.

Vision 2026. Rise. Rebuild. Reach. - Part 4 (Stewardship)

As we begin 2026, we are launching Vision 2026: Rise. Rebuild. Reach. This is not a slogan. It is not a program. It is a spiritual call rooted in Scripture and shaped by prayer. Throughout this month, our Sunday sermons will introduce and walk us through each part of this vision: Rise, Rebuild, and Reach. These messages are meant to set the direction, establish biblical foundations, and unite us around a shared understanding of where the Lord is leading us as a church. But it is important to understand this clearly: Vision 2026 is not something we focus on for one month and then move past. January is the starting point, not the finish line. This vision will shape how we preach, disciple, serve, give, and engage in ministry throughout the year and beyond. The sermon series gives us a shared language and spiritual framework as we move forward together. The first call is to Rise. In Revelation 3, Jesus speaks to a church that had grown comfortable, distracted, and spiritually drowsy. His words were simple and urgent: “Wake up.” To rise is to wake up spiritually, to return to a vibrant, obedient, Christ-centered faith. It means remembering who we are in Christ, repenting where we’ve drifted, and responding to His call on our lives. Before we can move forward outwardly, we must be awake inwardly. The second call is to Rebuild. Rebuilding is not starting over. Rebuilding is strengthening what remains. God is not finished with what He has begun at Believers Fellowship. He does not abandon what is cracked, weak, or worn. He restores it. Rebuilding involves strengthening discipleship, renewing faithfulness, and rebuilding spiritual foundations so that the work of God is healthy, durable, and Christ-honoring. The third call is to Reach. A church that rises and rebuilds does not turn inward; it looks outward. Jesus has always called His people to carry the Gospel beyond themselves. Reaching means sharing Christ in our homes, our community, and the world. It means living missionally, loving intentionally, and proclaiming the good news faithfully.
