DeNeese Parker: Specialty Courts

DeNeese Parker was recently promoted to serve as assistant court administrator over the Juvenile Division in Family Court. This is a new position that reflects the priority of the Eighth Judicial District Court to improve the lives and well-being of youth and families in Clark County. DeNeese is a certified alcohol and drug counselor in the State of Nevada. In the past, she has supervised other counselors and overseen multiple grant-funded programs, contracts and budgets. She directs and administers the programs related to governmental and legislative activity related to the Eighth Judicial District Court specialty courts. DeNeese represents the Eighth Judicial District Court with city, state and county government agencies as well as community resource providers. Jon Ponder: Hope for Prisoners

Hope for Prisoners assists with reentry by providing the formerly incarcerated long-term support and services as they work to reclaim their lives, families and standing in the community. We give them hope. Hope changes lives. Founder, Jon Ponder, found himself returning to his community after spending time in prison and experienced firsthand the same challenges most face when they are released. He realized there was a lack of long-term support and guidance for those who learned from their mistakes and had a genuine desire to change the direction of their lives. From his personal experience and his passion to help those facing the same challenges he overcame, HOPE for Prisoners was born.
