    Years ago, I used to buy firewood from a man—let's call him Lenny—and he was a real character. When Lenny found out I was a Bible-believing Christian, he loved throwing me "gotcha" questions. One day, he asked, "How do we know the universe hasn't always been here?" I replied, "Do you mean an infinitely old universe?" "Yup!" he said. "Well," I told him, "there are two ways I can show you that's not the case." I explained both points, asking questions along the way to make sure we were tracking together.
