Between the Lines Recovery is a platform for the stories of some of the unique people I have met during my journey through drug addiction and recovery. Some of the guests you may recognize from my memoir of the same name, but I will also interview some equally interesting people unrelated to that journey who have important stories to tell.

I believe that everyone has a story we should hear, and that if we take the time to ask the right questions and to listen to the answers, we can all learn from each other. The better you know someone, the harder it is to hate them.

Think about it.

Episode 37: Integrity and an Introduction

Episode 37: Integrity and an Introduction

In Episode 37 I discuss the difficult life transitions that led to my recent break from the podcast...and how I managed to bounce back.

Also, I read the introduction to my book, Between the Lines: A Memoir about Addiction, Empathy, and Evolution. It's interesting, relevant, and worthwhile...I promise.

Episode 36: Honesty Bender--A Gimme Moe Special

Episode 36: Honesty Bender--A Gimme Moe Special

In this very special episode, Moe pontificates on a recovery related topic of his choosing, as usual. But wait...there's more. In the spirit of saying yes to everything, Moe agreed to play along with me and answer a bunch of rapid fire questions, right off the dome, as they say. Trust me, his responses in this "speed round" that we decided on the fly to call, "Catch and Shoot" are definitely worth listening to. You will be enlightened and full of hope by the end of the episode, and that is a money back guarantee.

    Enjoy.

    Episode 35: "Daisy" Returns

    Episode 35: "Daisy" Returns

Episode 35 features my interview with "Daisy" who is the first guest to return to Between the Lines Recovery for a second interview. I included some of "Daisy's" story in my book, Between the Lines: A Memoir about Addiction, Empathy, and Evolution, and then I invited her to be my guest in Episode 1 of the podcast. Back then, she rated her recovery 5/10. Find out what score she gives herself these days....Also, "Daisy"found a way to move out of the basement apartment she was living in. Maybe there is hope for me, after all.

And there is good news and gratitude galore, as always.

Episode 34: Frank--Former Professional Golfer and Alcoholic in Recovery

Episode 34: Frank--Former Professional Golfer and Alcoholic in Recovery

Episode 34 features my interview with Frank, an alcoholic in recovery who went to his first AA meeting on the orders of a judge 30 years ago. He's been in and out ever since. But he's doing great these days...putting together a solid new stretch of sobriety. Oh yeah...he was a professional golfer, has lived in England, Spain, Virginia, and Colorado...and he really knows how to spin a tale. Lots to learn from Frank. He's awesome!

    Enjoy.

Glad she made it back

Nice to hear from Daisy again. Hope to hear from her another time.

This man is a convicted child abuser.

I’m sure many would say it is important to give second chances to addicts - but it is almost shocking to me to see this man everywhere speaking on his addiction, while glossing over his conviction for his abuse of a teenage student. Is there true accountability when you vaguely refer to your sexual abuse of a child as a ‘felony’ and little more? Jeremy Lind would have you believe he was convicted of tax fraud the way he speaks of his horrible crimes (or should I say, doesn’t). There is no accountability, when you hide your crimes from those who aren’t from Oak Park, as I am. I know you preyed on a vulnerable classmate of mine, and I can see how little you’ve changed. Sobriety is a right step, but seeking fame and a platform while disguising your heinous deeds shows the depth of your sincerity.

Amazing—and there’s a book, too!

This podcast is really amazing for those who are either in recovery or who are close to someone with an addiction. It features a lot of unique perspectives and I find value in every episode. I also bought the book on Amazon (by the same name of the pod) and have found even more wonderful lessons in there.
