Welcome to Between The Stacks, where I bring the magic of reading to life for children of all ages. In this podcast, I will be reading classic children's books, bringing beloved characters and fantastic worlds to life through the power of storytelling. My aim is to instill a love of reading in young listeners, and to ignite their imaginations through the wonderful and diverse world of literature. Each episode features a new story or chapter from a book, read by me, Teacher Shawn. I will take you on journeys through the pages of some of the most treasured children's books.

    The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling published in 1894. This is a collection of short stories and not just the single, popular tale of Mowgli being sent out of the jungle to the man village. You will still hear familiar voices such as Baloo the bear, Bagheera the Jaguar, and Shere Khan the tiger and also be introduced to many new, wonderful characters. In this story we see Mowgli trying to adjust to life in the man village and he fulfills his promise to the pack. This story is filled with sarcasm.     The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling published in 1894. This is a collection of short stories and not just the single, popular tale of Mowgli being sent out of the jungle to the man village. You will still hear familiar voices such as Baloo the bear, Bagheera the Jaguar, and Shere Khan the tiger and also be introduced to many new, wonderful characters. In this, part two, of Kaa's Hunting, we find Kaa ready to eat as he joins Baloo and Bagheera to rescue Mowgli. In this, part one, of Kaa's Hunting, we meet Baloo, learn of his unorthodox ways of teaching Mowgli the laws of the jungle and Mowgli is taken by the monkeys. Baloo and Bagheera set off to try and get Mowgli back but they need to enlist the help of an elusive jungle inhabitant and the only one the monkeys fear. Enjoy.
